Sounds Like
We have never heard or heard of anyone that sounds like us
Horror Flix is the rap-rock creation of what once seemed like two unlikely artists. First, we have Mic Machete, a rapper who uses horror themes in many of his own songs. Then, add the Sweedish Pickles, a few oddball rockers with a knack for the unorthodox. Together, they are Horror Flix, a band that isn't afraid to break boundries and play the music they love.
Horror Flix on the genre of rap-rock:
"We won't lie; We believe that rap-rock is currently a weak genre. The lack of bands willing to come foward and release something truly innovative is disapointing. The genre itself may be waning, but as in every type of music, there are always those who step foward and work to release something people will remember. We can't say for ourselves that we are one of those bands. Only you can decide that. And as always, we hope you enjoy listening to our music as much as we enjoy playing it."
How did Horror Flix Start?
Nightmare Evil and Philius have been friends since middle school, and were both founding members of Epik in 2004. After Epik broke up, Nightmare Evil did a bit of work recording for other artists. His friend Gus (Exsume) came to record, and brought with him his partner, Mic Machete. This was when Nightmare Evil first met Mic and realized his talent as a rapper. In 2005, (after listening to way too much Rage Against the Machine) Nightmare Evil had an epiphany about trying to start up a rap-rock group, and Mic was his first choice as a vocalist. And with Nightmare Evil in the band, Philius was practically obligated to join. The band went through many member changes, although Nightmare, Philius, and Mic Machete remained constant. It was, in fact, the bassist spot that was particuarly difficult to fill. Matt (Formerly known as DumpStar), however, turned out to be the man for the job, and has been in Horror Flix since Spring 2007. Due to creative differences the band had went on. Now the band is coming back and are in the process of writing new songs to bring the table. "We figured that we owe it to ourselves to start over again and work on our sound a bit more so what we will show you is what you will get", says Mic Machete (vocalist of Horror Flix).
Musician Reviews of Horror Flix
"I wouldnt usually listen to rap, but this is good rap! I liked the way you combined live instruments such as drums guitar and bass with the rapping, i think the sound you make is really nice." - Elysium
"They have a good flow and great feel..They don't just talk about money, cars and clothes....which I give major props for. Job well done." - From the Ashes
"I enjoyed it. I don't usually listen to rap and or rap rock but I think this is done well. The lead can rap well (which is more than can be said for most of the crap on mtv). It was experimental, innovative and something I'd actually listen to. Keep it up" - Taken to the Sky
Note: ..If you comment us or add us, we will try to comment back when we can!.. I mean, we're not getting hit too hard with messages, (yet) so it's reasonable for us to do so. If by chance we don't, it's because we're all college students with jobs, and don't have time, or we just lost track of your profile, which does happen sometimes. Every fan is important to us, so we do promise to try!

If you're one of our many friends whom we've blasted with bulletins, we're truly sorry. It was never our intention to bog your pages down with our announcements, and we really had no idea that sending out messages so frequently like that would cause you to not see your other friends' bulletins. We just have a lot of info to get out there and we wanted to make sure everybody got a chance to see it. Our bad. Now that we know how it works, we've decided to cease and desist our bulletin campaigns at this time. However, if you'd still like to be notified about new music and videos, show announcements, merch, and other info, we'd be happy to add you to our favorites list. That way, we can simply send you a personalized message letting you know what's going on. Be assured, any messages we send to you will be sent only ONCE. You can also add us to friend updates for the same info, if you prefer. Just let us know by replying to this email, and we'll put you in our faves. If not, just delete this message. Sorry again, and we hope you'll stick with us. Disonic
