Influences
All the greats - Haggard, Jones, Cash, Jennings, Nelson.... Alan Jackson, Big & Rich, Urban... everybody in Country Music is an influence 'cuz they've all got style and delivery.... Southern Rock - Skynyrd was a huge influence on my performance and writing style. There's even some pop stuff I'm influenced by. Let's not forget Hank Jr. and Sr.... Sheryl Crow, Kid Rock, Toby Keith, Vince Gill... the list goes on for miles.
Sounds Like
Howie Vaughn. It's always a party. Live he's awesome.
Coldwater Canyon Band Howie, you’re a dreamer. When you gamble, bet the ranch and let it ride, but make sure you bet on yourself.
-Papaw Vaughn- Kingsport, Tennessee
Mofaces/MTV Event with Coldwater Canyon
Howie got his start by sneaking into honkytonks with his dad to sing at eight-years-old. "Writing songs became my escape." "I grew up with Waylon and Willie, Lynn Anderson, Cash and Jones, I was always a rebel so I decided that's what I wanted to do, though my parents wanted me to take a different path." Now he captivates fans with his stellar live performances, honest delivery, and his heartfelt connection with everyone he performs for. Howie approaches life full-throttle. His brand of country music pulls you in and twists your soul.
Besides being an ultra-talented writer and performer, there's a lot of passion and honesty in Howie’s voice and writing. He brings energy to country music that the format desperately needs. And he is not afraid to cross the line and go for it.
-Al Bruno, Bruno Bear Music - CCMA Living Legend Award Recipient - 10 time CM Award winner - Writer and Publisher/former owner of Blue Bayou
