Howlies trip into town amidst torrents of reverb and influences that ricochet psychotically around rock's timeline like a musical Slaughterhouse Five…We'll have to wait and see what veteran proto-punk producer Kim Fowley (The Modern Lovers, The Runaways) can coax out of the band members for their anticipated debut.

Visit the HOWLIES MySpace page and you'll find a list of influences about a mile
long. Strange thing is, most of them — from Chuck Berry and the Velvet Underground to Satan and the ATL — make sense in one ay or another as you listen to the tracks attached to the page. What comes out is what might result from a death match between garage-rock and the avant-garde, but it's spangled with hooks that stick in your brain — and maybe a few of the painful kind that you can't get out of your finger.
-Shane Harrison (Atlanta Journal-Constitution)
…These guys are muscular enough to snap Devendra Banhart like a twig.
-Chris Parker (Nashville Scene)
Entertaining and mesmerizing all around.
-Kyle Mitchell (Gainesville Sun)
In just a half of a year, Atlanta's Howlies have pooled together (established? built?) a devoted fan base of celebs and nobodys alike.
Perhaps it's their onstage acrobatics in the midst of smoke and flashing lights that have awed audiences. Maybe it's their four-part
"howlmonies" that keep their booking agent busy. Certainly, their ritual of passing out tambourines during concerts lets bar patrons get
in on the jamming.

Dang Howlies! Thanks for the nice words and for rocking out with us and for sharing your Beam. You can sip our Baccus anytime. Looks like we're both smashing Corndogs on the same day. We're at 5:30 main stage. Be sure to come by and spit in our eye!
great show last nite. luv that johnny depp look-a-like you guys got. although, I was expecting him to talk in a contrived british accent-so kinda disappointed, but the rest was stellar.
