About me:
WANG CHUNG drummer "Darren Costin", has worked with a diverse range of artists through his career that include, Wang Chung, Bjork, U2, Pavarotti, and Frank Sinatra, to name but a few. It started back in 76 with bass player Leigh Gorman, Alan Murray and John Mold, who with Darren grew up in the east end of london, where they played in a high energy jazz rock band as fithteen year olds. The band were called, "BLUEWIND"."As kids we would cart our equipment to rehersals on old ladys prams that we'd stolen from outside launderettes". (Leigh later joined "Bow Wow Wow"), along with lead singer Glenn Gregory (now with "Heaven 17") joined Jack, Nick, Darren and Leigh after meeting them while in the same rehearsal studio in the East End of London in 78. They were all part of a little scene, based in a studio in London's East End, called "Easy Street". The band was then re-born under the name "57 Men". After playing around England for a year and a half trying to get a record deal, "57 Men" split up. (great band, just unlucky)
Out of the ashes of "57 Men", Jack Hues, Nick Feldman (aka "Nick De Spig"), Darren Costin (aka "Darwin") and Dave Bernand (hog robinson) re-grouped and started out again as a four-piece family, becoming "Huang Chung". The band recorded four live tracks for 101 Records, all of which appeared on a pair of compilation albums in 1980 and 1981.They also recorded an album with roxy musics producer, Rhett Davis, with Arista records called "huang chung".
Switching from Arista to Geffen Records in America in 82, the band also changed their name to Wang Chung and immediately went back to the studio to record. Wang Chung becomes the very first NEW UK BAND to be signed to Geffen Records in America. The band then consisted of Jack Hues, Nick Feldman, and Darren.

Of late, Darren continues to play drums,Produce and write as a pro, working in all mediums of music and film and still insists he is still learning his craft. He has just finished producing the band "DAVE" and working in post audio mastering two of the eden sessions of 2008, Kaiser Cheifs and the Raconteurs

Sending you Happy B-Day wishes! Our friendship is more than just a fad, it's a ballin' cyber experience baby. And remember, you know you're getting old when the candles cost more than the cake. Rock on and hope to hear from you soon.

Thanks for the add and thanks for your funny message. You know, Raymund spoke in To Live and Die in L.A.-context, but he forgot that you played on "Wait. "Wait" is also very important part of the soundtrack. 100000000000 x sorry !!!
We have been Huang Chung and Wang Chung fans from the beginning and we developed the whole philosophy about your band. For us Wang Chung is a sacred band and we are ready to jump in the fire for you, Nick and Jack any time !!!

p.s. the groove and the bass line from "Ornament of Elephant" sounds like "Feelers" from Shriekback. Isn't it strange ?
