   About Hugh Morrison
If you are interested here's a quick shameless bio...
Born in the Highlands of Scotland, in the town of Wick in the County of Caithness, a "durty Weeker" if you are from Thurso! Brought up in Tain, Ross-shire, also lived in Inverness before landing in the USA. These days I live in Katy, Texas. I've been in the States for almost 10 years.

In 2005 I formed the "sometimes" progressive Celtic band known as Murder the Stout. We play your usual Irish & Scottish standards led by Wicklow man Gerard Bride. We have been compared to "Clancy Brothers on Red Bull". I also play "teuchter music" for Scottish Ceilidh & Country dancing with Kendall Rogers, a top class keyboard and bodhran player.
Recently I've been accompanying some very fine singers, GLASGOW GIRL JOANN GILMARTIN & JED MARUM who's based in Dallas, Texas. I'm about to join Jed & his band of buddies on his latest musical project LONESTAR STOUT.

Last year I returned home to Scotland where I played with brilliant Edinburgh band THE DEAD BEAT CLUB , who recently released their superb debut album RANDOM HEARTFELT TRINKETS. So go buy a copy now!

Here's some of my own myspace friends I recommend you check out... (in no particular order)

MURDER THE STOUT, THE DEAD BEAT CLUB , JED MARUM, THE ASPHALT DIRTROLLERS, CARTOON COFFEE, ROBBIE EDMONSTONE, NEEDFIRE, DROPKICK, GORDON ROBERTSON, FLATFOOT 56, THE ELDERS, DON GABBERT, MARC GUNN, STREET DOGS, THE WATERBOYS, BLACK 47, CULANN'S HOUNDS, ROSIE LEDET, RHYTHM N REEL, SPRAOI, HEATHER GILMER, HIGHLAND WAY, JOHN MACDONALD, TULLAMORE, SMITHFIELD FAIR, RODDY WOOMBLE

Some random press quotes:

......"between Morrison's stellar selection of tunes and his spirited playing, a listener never gets bored."
Dirty Linen Magazine

"It's hard to believe Feet to the Floor is the work of one man..... .....Morrison and the accordion both seem to be fighting off a case of laughter......perfect companion for a bright summer afternoon....."
Rambles.net

"This is bright, happy music..... ……… and listening to it will always make you feel good.
Celtic MP3 Music Magazine

"Put this CD in your player and you will have a hard time keeping your feet still. This is toe-tapping music you will never get tired of hearing. What a talent!"
Samual D. Perry

"I've been enjoying it very much. Great job."
Kelly Clement - KTAO Radio

"Far From Home is a joyous experience"
Sarah Meador

Thank you, Hugh! You were so sweet to think of me for my birthday. How was the Dram? I was Curling in Canada - and wishing I had brought my KILT! Are you coming out to California this year???

Wishing you the best always,
B.

Oakland's about two hours away.
As long as the Gothic Gourmet's got her Curling booth up there, at least ONE of us will be there supporting her!

Hey Ho 'Big squeezer' I see that you're doing 'Private Functions' now.
I've done private funtions in the past, and I have to say that some of them were physically challenging, if not musically.
RULE 1. USE PROTECTION.
RULE 2. Follow rule 1.
RULE 3. Follow rule 2.
Those 'winging it' gigs can really hurt your ego.
I kid you not.
Oh, and there is a brilliant new comedy on BBC now called 'Gavin and Stacey' which I recommend to you, now in series 2, which should be available online on the BBC website.

See you soon, Acidbath.
