HUMAN LIFE, the musical project from Matt Wasley, Rachael Starr and Joshua Collins has created quite a buzz over the past year...
They all produce music. They all DJ. And they all sing (Matt and Rachael in the studio, Josh in the shower.) This talented trio hails from Los Angeles, California. There Human Life is part of a new breed of producers and DJs, inspired as much by sunshine and beaches as they are by the music heard coming from dark corners in downtown warehouses. Stealing their favorite elements (they’re not giving them back) from dance, indie rock, and global pop, HUMAN LIFE celebrates just that with cuts that range from dreamy pop to dancefloor storms. HUMAN LIFE looks to an edgy future while nodding to their influences from the past (Howard Jones, Mr. Fingers, Genesis,) and today (Switch and Daft Punk.)
All three members have achieved their own individual success but together in the form of HUMAN LIFE, they’ve learned that the synergy of a group means making great music ... and having fun as partners in crime, traveling the globe to share their unique sound.
One reason for HUMAN LIFE's meteroic rise is their ability to impress a crowd with their high energy performances. The group offers up forward thinking DJ sets AND a full blown live show utilizing Matt & Rachael's vocals as well as a mix of organic and electronic instruments. Presenting thier music in clubs and live venues all over the world like Electrochic @ Le Showcase (Paris) and Girls & Boys @ Webster Hall (New York City), HUMAN LIFE shows no signs of slowing down anytime soon.
The other half of HUMAN LIFE's appeal is their abillity to craft diverse original tracks and remixes. Their songs have struck a chord with blogs (LA Friendly, Binary), listeners and DJs the world over, including French Touch legend Alan Braxe who has signed "Don't Fade Away" to his Vulture imprint. Also slated for release on France's hype label Boxon is "We Won't Stop", an energetic electro track with an italo disco twist. As if that's not enough, HUMAN LIFE has a full length album in the works... and they still find time to sleep (well, sometimes!).
Get ready to live. HUMAN LIFE is about to find your ears.
