D.Gritty (a.k.a. the rapper formerly known as Humurak.D.Gritty) is regarded by many as the peoples choice when it comes to UK urban music. Since settling in Cardiff this Leeds born, Bradford raised MC has been making new fans world wide with his distinctive and hard hitting, yet emotional style that grabs you by the ears and simply doesn’t let go.
During this time he’s earned the support of UK heavyweights such as Dizzee Rascal, Million Dan, and many others including Skinnyman with whom he has toured the UK & Europe no less than 3 times.
Other career highlights to date have seen Gritty rocking both Glastonbury & The Glade festivals alongside longtime tour DJ and producer First Aid, being handpicked as the support for 2 Goldie Lookin’ Chain UK tours, a number of live national radio appearances including a BBC Radio 1 session for Steve Lamaq from Maidavale Studios as well as being a hard act to follow for various international touring artists such as Guru (Gangstarr), The Pharcyde, & Jeru The Damaja to name a few.
His strong back catalogue of releases includes the EP’s ‘Rags 2 Rags’ & ‘They Aint Ready’ featuring production from Jehst , Lewis Parker and many others, a string of videos including the Channel U Classic ‘Rags’, numerous guest appearances on LP’s for the likes of Skitz, Blade, Secondson & Micall Parknsun amongst others, not to mention the smash mixtape ‘Kinggritty.com Vol1’ with street sales of over 8,000 copies and counting!
D.Gritty is currently in the studio putting the finishing touches to his debut LP ‘No Struggle, No Progress’ due for release on his own imprint Rags Records in early 2010. The album features production from First Aid, Baby J, Metabeats, Jehst and more.
