Hyperpotamus makes a'cappella music, that simple, with four microphones, a loop station pedal and gallons of water. After being involved in a number of bands as a drummer and piano player, he decided to ditch musical instruments altogether and go his own way. What he left behind were bloodsucking labels, abusive rehearsal space rent, impossible transportation of bass drums and cymbals in unwelcoming geography, and lumbago. Freed, he started to rehearse his vocal compositions in the undgerground metro stations of Madrid; just 6 months later he was opening for bands in front of 1400 people. In March 2009, Hyperpotamus self-released his debut album "Largo Bailón", a sonic-artisan craft in which the only instrument he uses is his own voice. The following tour took him all around Spain and led him to play festivals such as SXSW (Austin), Wilsonic (Bratislava) or Crew Hassan (Lisbon). He just completed a month-long tour of California and will continue to play the US in the following months.
And all this with hardly any promotional fanfare other than good old word to mouth.

Hyperpotamus hace música a capela, sin más, todo ello a través de cuatro micrófonos, una pedalera de loops y litros de agua.
Después de su paso por varios grupos como batería y pianista, decidió dar carpetazo a los instrumentos musicales e ir por libre. Detrás quedaron las discografías chupasangres, los alquileres abusivos, el transporte imposible de bombos, herrajes y platos por geografías irreales, y el lumbago. Ya liberado, se lanzó a ensayar sus composiciones vocales en las estaciones de metro de Madrid y sólo 6 meses más tarde acabó tocando ante 1.400 personas en el Joy Eslava de Madrid. En marzo 2009 autoeditó su disco debut, "Largo Bailón", un trabajo sónico-artesanal en el que el único instrumento que uso es la voz. La consecuente gira le llevó a tocar por toda España y a participar en festivales como SXSW (Austin, Texas), Wilsonic (Bratislava) o Crew Hassan (Lisoba). Acaba de completar un mes de gira por toda California y seguirá tocando en EEUU en los próximos meses. Y todo ello sin grandes aspavientos discográficos ni más fanfarria promocional que el boca a boca.
