ICONZ in the flagship recorded music and filmed entertainment imprint of Landmark Entertainment Corporation (LEC); an entertainment company based in South Florida with assets in recorded music, filmed entertainment, music services and music publishing.
ICONZ MUSIC was introduced to the world in 2001 through the success of the company's club smash "Get Crunked Up" under the leadership of LEC co-founder, Fentz. The club banger developed ICONZ into an internationally recognized artist and music brand in the R&B/Hip-Hop music scene. The song is featured on a company compilation album entitled "Street Money”. Released on Elektra Entertainment Group in February of 2001, "Street Money" debuted at number 10 on Billboard Magazine's Top R&B/Hip-Hop Albums Chart and was rated number 84 on Billboard’s Top 200 Selling Albums Chart for March 2001. The song also took the 84th slot on Hot 97's “Top 100 Songs of The Year for 2001” chart. ICONZ MUSIC later released another compilation album entitled "Ya Lookin' at 'Em" on Koch Entertainment featuring such artists as Trick Daddy, Rick Ross and DJ Kool among many others.
After making its mark in the music industry, LEC ventured into the world of filmed entertainment with the launch of ICONZ FILMS to produce the motion pictured entitled “Bloodline”. The film is an urban action drama about two brothers that were separated in their youth and grew to choose opposite sides of the law. The Bloodline DVD went on to ship Gold and is now available at various retailers nationally such as Wal-Mart, Circuit City, Best Buy, Blockbuster, Hollywood Video and BrandsMart and various online stores such as Target.com, Amazon.com and Walmart.com. The company is currently gearing up for the production of Bloodline 2 in the spring of 2008.
ICONZ’s expansion into filmed entertainment has in no way hindered the growth of its music division. ICONZ MUSIC has taken its entire catalog into the digital music space with the global release of the Bloodline Soundtrack now available on iTunes, Verizon Wireless, Rhapsody, Beatport and Starbucks’ Hear Music among many other digital music and ring tone services. Sales for the Bloodline album have been reported in Australia, Japan, the United Kingdom and Europe as well as in the United States. The album features performances by Uncle Luke, Trina and The Outlaws while highlighting the newest additions to the ICONZ artist roster; Ballgreezy, Toro, and Suthun Boy underlining his chilling portrayal of “Koke” in Bloodline. Ballgreezy, who also appears in the film, is captivating fans daily with his melodic single introducing the world to the word “Shone”, a widely used slang term for “action” when making reference to singles chasing a little ‘ak-shone’ after the club.
With an energized new artist roster and innovative new strategies to cross market music with film, ICONZ will surely maintain its leadership position in the South Florida music and entertainment scene.
