ING... .. The band borns officially in january 2005 (even if it existed from 3 years) from Stefano. The love for heavy metal imposed him from the beginning a rough sound but not for this less cured, with epic pieces in 80's style... Stefano had to bring Icy Steels flag high just with the force of his own spirit reducing him to sound with synthetic drums,bass and multitraced guitars before a computer, because in Sardinia, if not for some exceptions, heavy metal scene is getting weaker every year and even with their efforts to find the missing band members, after many attempts there was nothing to do.After this period a friend who sustained their cause informed them that a drummer with metal in his heart, was looking for a band worth of that music. .. So the drummer in quest was ALESSANDRO OGGIANO who as soon as he knew of Stefano, he didn't hesitate in making himself ahead and after some tries he entered officially to take part in ICY STEEL's initial project, giving to the band the same standing of their ideals and willforce.Tries of other guitarists were imminent but a guitar needs a soul who sounds it and not just someone who applies a bunch of techniques just for themselves... As in a chain reaction Alessandro contacted a friend of his, guitarist, with a strong passion for heavy metal, ALBERTO ERETTA and it was useless to say that it was immediately a strong mutual understanding and with him at the guitar the band was not just an idea anymore. Only the bassplayer was missed now to create the full line-up… This role has been immediately filled-up by ROBERTO LADINETTI, a great bassplayer and brother with a big experience in this ground. .. Very similar musical influences and ideologies accompanied the band in a coherence so strong that they couldn't find anyone in their same region someone who had their same musical and philosophical ideologies but the band had not a name yet: what else there is so difficult if not a name and a logo for representing band in all of its essence? So there was the need to find the key word, exciting epic and hard at the same time. So stop with unworthy names anymore the less prevedible as they can, stop with who say that heavy metal is a thing of the past and bad. They don't do it for fashion and the only way to shout this to the world was to refer to what the most founded was in heavy metal : ICY STEEL. The band , concert after concert token more confidence respect to the beginning purposing for the most part own-made songs but even covers like ..Kings of Metal.. , ..Heavy Metal Angels.. and ..Breaking the Law... .. The results from the public were positive, there were the ones who hosannate them and there were the ones who hated them because their convinction made them think in good or bad something negative to the public. In time both Alberto and Alessandro left the band pursuing personal projects, but the friendship between the four of us still hasn't changed. Soon the line-up changed reaching a brief stability with the entry behind the drum of CARLO SPIGA and the guitar with SIMONE SPISSU. Carlo stood in for a year and with the band took on several gigs, opening for Pino Scotto in one of his gigs in Sardinia during summer 2008, but eventually he left the band to move in Germany for bringing on his artistic path. After a year with the band, SIMONE too had to left Icy Steel to pursue his own musical project. Luckily, the band found new stability with CLAUDIO SECHi behind the drum and the fabulous entry of PIETRO BIANCO as the other guitar, finding the ballast that there is still. .. Now everyone of them is proud to be part of ICY STEEL and to trust each other because in battle if there is not a strong hand and confidence between warriors there isnt an army that could win. .. ..Hail to the icy warriors from Sardinia, love or hate Icy Steel!.... .... .. .. .. ITA... .. La band nasce ufficialmente nel gennaio 2005 (anche se esistente già da 3 anni) da STEFANO GALEANO. L'amore per l'heavy metal gli ha imposto fin dall'inizio un suono ruvido, ma non per questo meno curato nelle composizioni,con pezzi epici in stile 80's. Stefano ha dovuto portare Icy Steel solo con la forza del proprio spirito obbligandolo a suonare e comporre con batterie sintetiche, basso e chitarre multitraccia davanti a un computer, perché in Sardegna, se non per alcune eccezioni (che in questo caso fanno davvero l'eccezione), la scena heavy metal è molto debole e anche con i suoi sforzi per trovare i membri mancanti dovette passare un po' di tempo da solo. Dopo questo periodo un amico che ha sostenuto la loro causa li ha informati che un batterista con la voglia di fare nel cuore, era alla ricerca di una band che amasse la musica. Il batterista in questione era ALESSANDRO OGGIANO che appena seppe di Stefano, non esitò a farsi avanti e, dopo alcuni tentativi entrò ufficialmente a partecipare al progetto iniziale, Icy Steel, dando alla band la stessa posizione di ideali che tutt'ora ha. Le prove di altri chitarristi furono imminenti, ma una chitarra ha bisogno di un anima che suona e non solo qualcuno che affibia alla chitarra tecniche fine a se stesse. Come in una reazione a catena Alessandro contattato un suo amico chitarrista con una forte passione per l'heavy metal, ALBERTO ERETTA ed è inutile dire che ci fu subito una forte comprensione reciproca e con lui alla chitarra la band non era solo più un idea. Mancava quindi all'appello solo un bassita per completare la formazione... Questo ruolo è stato subito riempito da ROBERTO LADINETTI, un grande bassista e con una grande esperienza nel campo musicale ed in partocolare dell'hard rock/heavy metal. Roberto fu una vera e propria benedizione perchè tutt'ora sono Roberto e Stefano le colonne portanti degli ICY STEEL nonchè fondatori e sono loro che continuano a tenere alta la bandiera degli ICY STEEL. Le influenze musicali molto simili e le ideologie affini hanno accompagnato la band in una coerenza così forte che fu molto difficile trovare qualcuno che avesse le loro stesse ideologie musicali e filosofiche, ma la band non aveva un nome ancora! Che altro c'è di così difficile, se non trovare un logo per la rappresentazione delle band in tutta la sua essenza? Quindi c'era la necessità di trovare la parola chiave, epica, eccitante e difficile allo stesso tempo. Quindi, basta con i nomi meno prevedibli possibile, basta con chi dice che l'Heavy Metal è una cosa del passato e malevola. Gli ICY STEEL non lo fanno per moda e l'unico modo di gridare al mondo questo è riferirsi a ciò che in realtà è : ICY STEEL. La band, concerto dopo concerto prese sempre piu confidenza proponendo all'inizio per la maggior parte già proprie canzoni, ma comunque anche classici come Kings of Metal dei Manowar.. .. , .. Heavy Metal Angels degli Heavy Load.. .. e Breaking the Law dei judas Priest... I risultati da parte del pubblico furono positivi, ci sono stati quelli che hanno osannato gli Icy Steel fin dall'inizio e ci sono stati quelli che non li sopportavano perché la loro convinzione probabilmente poteva sembrare qualcosa di buono o di negativo , sempre cose comunque dipendenti solo ed esclusivamente dal pubblico, non c'è una verità assoluta in queste cose. Con l'andare del tempo Alberto e Alessandro lasciarono la band per vari progetti personali che ogniuno di loro voleva inseguire, ma l'amicizia tra tutti e quattro è tutt'ora la stessa. Allora il cambio di formazione fu imminente fino a raggiungere una breve stabilità con l'entrata alle pelli di CARLO SPIGA e alla chitarra di SIMONE SPISSU. Con Carlo durò per un anno con il quale la band affrontò svariate date aprendo anche a Pino Scotto in una delle sue due date in Sardegna nell'estate del 2008, ma poi lasciò la band per trasferirsi in Germania per portare avanti un suo percorso artistico. SIMONE invece dopo piu di un anno di grande aiuto alla band dovette lasciare gli Icy Steel per continuare con il suo progetto musicale. Allora fortunatamente la band trovò di nuovo stabilità con CLAUDIO SECHI alla batteria e con la favolosa entrata di PIETRO BIANCO all'altra chitarra trovando cosi la fermezza che c'è tutt'ora. Ora ogni membro degli ICY STEEL è orgoglioso di fare parte di questo ambizioso progetto, perché in battaglia, se non c'è man forte e fiducia tra guerrieri non c'è un esercito capace di vincere. .. .. Hail agli Icy Warriors dalla Sardegna, amore o odio comunque sempre ICY STEEL! .. .. STAY TRUE!
