of Sonic Pirates sailing on a sea of cheese
with a torn piece of rainy skies plastered over its apple strudel crusted hull
while paper birds from kids’ forgotten drawings flutter overhead.
There’s nothing like creating a soundtrack to life’s unspoken moments and the childlike landscapes that we all paint within ourselves.
And that’s exactly what In Each Hand A Cutlass hopes to create by weaving through the rich tapestries of different musicalities; constantly exploring new grounds just like how we as human beings constantly grow and learn.
The band is a motley assemble of rag tattered musicians hailing from the various genres of Singapore’s fragmented music underground. Its pedigree : indie rock veteran Daniel Sassoon (Electrico, Livonia, Kalkulatore), metalheads Farid (Meth) and Kenny Png (Meltgsnow, La' Dies), producer/engineer Roland Lim (Seraphim, Anna Judge April) and drum wizard Jordan Cheng (Rafe). IEHAC has come together to make music that transcends the barriers musicians put up against each other.
It is not about the differences, it is about finding the common understanding that everyone can hum a tune to.
