The band, conceived of by Prue, during a lengthy train tour of rural Canada, whose songs on this trip were initially written for voice and dulcimer, came to fruition upon her return. At which point, she described the concept and demonstrated the process to long-time friend and conspirator, Quintin Mire (formerly of the Minsk Youth Orchestra). Thus began months of unsatisfactory straining at his ancient, and poorly built auto-harp. It was decided at this point, that dulcimer would become bass, auto harp would be discarded, and Quintin would play the more acceptable, drums. After a few months, it was realized that the unnamed group required broader and lusher instrumentation. Thusly (and appropriately), Victor Lye (South Wales Atlantic Opera Company) was contracted to make use of Prue's multivox string generator. This was a much more satisfactory combination. The name I is for Ida, was found written on a small piece of paper, in one of Victor's many hats. Finally, utilizing his "rural" skill-set, Hector dug Prue, Quintin, and Victor out of the very small hole that they fell into, and completed the ensemble. Now we write and play the fruits of the above-described tree. Thank you very much, and good day.
-Prue
FROM WIG WAM BAM:
CAPTAIN AMERICA
"Next, I Is For Ida played their second show to great acclaim (as deserved) and unveiled their latest --All I Know-- that takes its rightful place alongside the already-classic first batch of mildly disturbing fairy-tale compositions.
Theyre true Gothic without the self-conscious goth trappings i.e. no vampires or pasty affectations. If they look a bit pale its only because most musicians see little sunlight as a matter of course.
With a nod to Victorian lacings, Ida is like animate waxworks brought to life by a benevolent Vincent Price alchemist.
Qunitins drumming could be toned down a bit though as the rim pops are louder than need be and out-of-place startling. Sitting in for a few tunes tonight was Unit 7 Drains Chris Newman on electric piano which --through fx magick -- sounded at times like a trilling harpsichord in the French court of Louis VX.
A great set, always a revelation and beyond belief in beauty."

Your smile still finds us smiling back at you With eggshells behind We find ourselves meeting your eyes in time To catch the tears there Were you staring at the sun, Remembering?
Pulling yourself behind a wall of words To feel protected Like in a room of moans where no one goes Queen of what you know Your friends begin to question The places you go
Do you feel the pain when you know you can’t win, But still have to try? Playing games that seem inconsequential Later biting you Needing to sacrifice Lamb turned hero
Better than all the others in your wake Put them in their place They would dare to match what they think you have And prove themselves wrong You seem to be this race’s golden one They won’t soon forget
Was your first choice the wrong one to be made? His first choice worried And maybe she knew better than he did When he made his choice Each one still passed the other With no questions
One went ahead where the other faltered Seeing how you glowed Everyone guessed together you were whole A better ending Than what happened for you both in the end A nightmare for some
We could not believe our eyes The way you shone Leading us to places we could never go Our hero again Your stars a map in the night A path for us
And took us places they feared our footsteps Our calls were echoes When the fighting stole our breath None left behind We had you, and they knew their lives would end Their words would be choked
awesome review of your band on my profile with pics I had fun making.
So check out probably one of the best written reviews that I have written about a band. And check out the fun pics by scrolling down on my profile. They are on the side:):):)
We were being and knowing That two were one, and we were three In twelve sided cosmos, drifting by I wasn’t seeing I was feeling And wasn’t being, doing, two were one And when I looked to it Nothing but the corner of my eye Then we were three, and being Being and doing I hadn’t known that two were one We were that same one, and being When I know, I feel I see that two were one We were three and being Drifted through twelve sides And we were being Knowing that two were one And falling there on clouds like stars We were three and known We were one, I don’t know I was being, doing, but I knew That two were one And clouds flow down Drifting, we know, and see Doing, and knowing we were three And knowing two were one That two were one.
