I'm one of the founding members of Montreal's monthly getdown, The GOODS, started in August of 2002 by me and my partner Andy Williams to provide a warm alternative to the average Montreal night out. Under the banner "You know what you like, and so do we..." The GOODS only mandate is great music, whether it's known, forgotten, or yet to be discovered. With one foot planted firmly in the past, and the other moving forward to the future, some guests have included Keb Darge, Mr. Scruff, DJ Spinna, A Man Called Warwick, Paine, Quantic, Moonstarr, Tom Thump, Jason Palma, DJ Kobal, Philarmonix, Mr. Attic, John Kong, General Eclectic, Heavyweight Art Installations, Mark de Clive Lowe, Bembe Segue, Specifics, Kahil El Zabar, Russ Dewbury, DJ Format, Abdominal, Robert Strauss, Mad Mats, DJ Nu-Mark, Afrodizz, Karsten John, Len Senator, Aklimatize & Chris Lima, Josh Deep, Turf One, Nickodemus, Domu, Carlos Nino and Afronaught, Mikey Stirton & Daz-I-Kue from Bugz in the Attic. With the help of the unique atmosphere and no frills charm of La Sala Rossa, soulful dancefloor movements and the musically diverse party have definitely found a home in Montreal. With my DJing roots firmly planted in early nineties hip-hop, my love of beats and rhymes lead to musical awakenings in jazz, funk, fusion, soul and the African and Brazilian spectrum. After 11 years of playing records, the appeal of bringing underground, burgeoning and new music to the forefront has proved to be an endless pursuit. In more recent years, I've been energized by growing musical movements in broken-beat, future-jazz and neo-soul. I've been a music journalist for the past 8 years, and I'm currently working on my first full length LP under the alias "The Incubator" called Songs for the Rugged Individualist, to be released on Public Transit Recordings.
Kimle tanışmak isterim: Omar Lye-Fook, Rosario Dawson and THE INCUBATOR----not necessarily in that order...
