Inner Frequency is creating a buzz in North Texas and beyond with their fresh take on creating and performing catchy, rhythmic original tunes. Cara Young leads the band with her feminine rockstar persona and sultry alto voice. The band has experienced several evolutions over the past few years, moving from coffee shops to bars & festival stages and becoming more electric than acoustic, but the one constant has been Cara's voice, songwriting, and presence.
Inner Frequency's most recent release, Surge, was produced and recorded by Will Hunt, who has worked with numerous artists including Amy Lee of Evanescence, Odis (who were awarded Quick DFW 2008 “Album of the Year”) and Ft. Worth band Burning Hotels. Hunt created a new musical landscape for the band by adding atmospheric electric guitars while retaining the originality of their acoustic style. Surge was released in February of 2009 and included the tracks “Big Talker,” “Sometimes,” and “Satellite.” Satellite has received recognition on Garageband.com for multiple categories including Best Female Vocals, Best Drums, Best Programming, Best Lyrics, Most Original, Feel Good Track, and Track of the Day.
Highlights of 2009 so far include appearing on Good Morning Texas (video can be viewed here: http://www.wfaa.com/video/?z=y&nvid=350104&shu=1), playing on festival stages at Deep Ellum Arts Festival and Taste Addison, and contributing their music and energy to Joss Whedon's charity project Can't Stop the Serenity.
The band recently saw the departure of co-founding member, Luke Carnevale. After some contemplation, Cara and the rest of the members, Brad Brock on bass, Jon Mosig on drums, and Barry Dyer on electric guitar, decided to continue moving forward as Inner Frequency. With Luke's blessing, they will continue to play the tunes that he and Cara wrote from 2005-2009, but will also begin to create some new sounds, as other members of the band contribute to future songwriting.
