Okay so what's awesome: Peanut butter, gourmet food, gourmet food with peanut butter on it, internet people that never, ever want to meet, the majority of women, people that get subtle humor, thunderous laughter, kissing in general, gloriously bad movies and artsy foreign ones, the rest of the arts in general are near and dear, quiet reflection and silence, the absence of ego, (good god) coffee and unconventional adrenaline rushes, good oddness, colorful analogies and ranting, absurd comedy, mortality stuff + skulls, independant people, blowing your mind without after taste, etc. etc.
Music
I listen to a lot of kinds of music but what I listen for the most is how well the band can play their instruments. Metal and the aggressives first, Jazzes and cool band arrangments second, selective classical with favorite instruments third............everything else creeps in and sort of gets stumbled over. Usually doesn't stick around for long. None of them really envolve dancing I've noticed. I don't think that's set in stone.
Movies
Musicials rub me the wrong way. They're the only movie that does that. Not even dramatics & romance does that. And I LIKE music.
Television
I have basic cable, mostly for news. I don't watch tv as much as I'm on my computer and should watch even less than I do. Most of the time it just gathers dust.
Books
Most of my books are poetry or infomation text reference. Short and arty or info-taining is all I got. I still don't read a whole lot and do it during laundry and so on.

Some people go to bars to dance, I think I might actually enjoy sipping my favorite beer/drink and chatting a little more. coffee houses are better for that anyway.
Most of my tastes are a little outside the norm. I don't like being uninspired by something that's mundane or common pop culture. I don't care what's popular really. You could call me fringe and get it right. When everyone is running one way, you can probably see me going the other direction.
I'm 75/25 hispanic (spanish) & irish. A light complected spanish guy with an english tongue. I have an anglo grandmother. I'm an aries and a rat (chinese astrology).
I like to keep my brain entertained. I'm a thinker. I like to analyze anything I look at. You probably wouldn't think that you'd see me a sport event but I like them for that reason. I know how to strategize so I know how to gamble and I like shooting craps from time to time. I'm a pretty deliberate person that likes to laugh at absurd comedy. Figure that one out.
I've been a musician (Bass), an artist(production) and a city bus driver. I've had such odd jobs.
I've been a hopeless romantic, a cynic and somewhere inbetween traveling between those two towns. I might look like a stock band guy but am really the outline of what most nice guys are. Almost down to a blueprint. Very affectionate and sentimental. Loyal and sweet. Although the ratio is leveling off (thanks abq), most of my ex girfriends still like me. I can count all my number of intimates on two hands and remember all there names. I'm quite proud of that. I like personality and don't insist of dating overly drop dead gorgeous physically attractive women. If I'm anything, I'm reasonable. Most overly pretty women are quite one sided with tempers to boot. Quirks are never boring. I'm one of the few that will use the adjective "weird" as a complement.
My dating pyramid: Pretty, Smart, and funny. Anyone with two of those things will always be more interesting than someone with only one. I'm articulate and analyitcal, it's how I make up my mind. I'm very, very fair.
I didn't grow up here and I'm the independant satelite of my family. I call new mexico my home state but I don't really have a hometown. I've lived many places for blocks at a time. To keep it fresh.
I like music. I almost collect it formally and scorn people that download it, mostly because I only like independant and underground DIY music. I'm usually pretty specific. I like most heavy metal/hardcore, classic and contemp. jazz and arty indie rock.....leading out of my instrument playing and preference. I like to hear the instrument and song craft and rarely pay attention to lyrics. I know what I like and I like it a lot. If not in most areas of my life entirely.
Movies (Comedy, drama, horror) stand up (improv, comics) and theatre (usually whatever's playing) are good as well.
Specially if it's weird. I go to a lot of shows of course. Even if I end up being the oldest one in the room. I used to be that sixteen year old kid in front of the stage. And sometimes I'm still standing next to myself.
I don't blend well but it's mostly on purpose. I celebrate things that are different and special while holding them near and dear. Most of my crazy is on the outside while maintaining a very ethical heart. I have few commonplace friends but I do hold the ones I have highly. I'm very giving to them and try to look out for them when it's possible. I simply don't run in packs. I'm a saint without a kindly face. I hate to dumb myself down and love people that are intelligent, funny and clever. I like to make you laugh even more.
But really, fuck most people.
If you have an extraordinary ego I'll shun it. If you're self absorbed I'll ignore it and if you obsess over money/status/power I'll be uninspired to share any of what I have with you.
I'm a responsible adult. I end up being a lot of peoples designated driver and big brother.
I don't like to look at the keyboard when I type so it makes it feel more like my words are coming from my soul. Oh, and I have a soul. Thats a sort of an original character trait. It might be what most of your torment is coming from. Unless you mess up when your typing and look backe to a page frull of thouhrs and phanes.
My parents gave me a strong sense of right and wrong and I don't meet alot of people like that. What have mom and dad done?! Someone needs to come out and explain that "ignorance is bliss" doesn't refer to dumbasses of their own undoing. I don't think they would follow very well anyway. But it's a nice gesture, isn't it?
Who I'd like to meet: People with stuff to talk about. Partcularly the ones that leave all the marshmellows in their bowl for last. I like to IM because I'm a fast typer. Things I have a tough time relating to/are less interested in: Gangsta culture in general, Full blown power couples, Young parents, People that salivate over money, Felons, Scenesters/People that "don't get" art.
