THANKS TO EVERYONE WHO ATTENTED EDC!!!
We would like to thank everybody who attended Electric Daisy Carnival 2009 over the past two days. It was the first year that the festival took place on both Friday and Saturday, and thanks to all of you, it was a huge success! We had a great time putting the event together and we hope that you all had a terrific time at the show. This event was a special Daisy that we will always remember and we owe all of the performers, artists and DJs a special thanks, but most of all, here’s a shout out to each and every one of you who came and made it all possible!
We’ve posted photos from EDC in the gallery for everyone to check out. While there were many professionals shooting still and film cameras at the event on both nights, we always love to see your work as well! If you have photos let us know and we’ll post a link to them. The official event photos are available here.
Stay tuned for more post-event info. Thanks again, it was your participation that made all of this possible!

FATBOY SLIM SKIPS BUT EDC DOESN'T SKIP A GROOVE!
Insomniac is disappointed by recent news that we have received. Fatboy Slim has decided to withdraw from this year’s festival citing “unavoidable family commitments” as the reason for the cancellation. But never fear! The Insomniac team has confirmed an amazing act for Saturday night. Groove Armada will now be DJing the kineticField on the floor of the Coliseum! We couldn't be more excited about adding the London big beat legends and are really looking forward to them rocking the main stage.
In addition, Insomniac will be announcing more talent on several stages as well as an additional area on Friday. The circuitGrounds stage, originally booked only for Saturday’s show, will now be in full effect on Friday night!
Again, we apologize for the disappointing news but rest assured we will not sleep until more slamming talent is locked down. Check back for news as it becomes available. Thank you for your understanding!

EDC 2 DAY EVENT INFO
This year Electric Daisy Carnival returns for its 13th year and it's going to be more amazing than ever before! We’ve been working day and night to put together the most special event possible and we are excited for everyone to share in the celebration! For the first time ever we will have two full days and nights of beats, freaks, fun and festivities as Insomniac transforms the LA Memorial Coliseum and Exposition Park into a carnival for the eyes and ears. Join us as the world's leading names in dance music descend upon LA for an entire weekend and we light up the sky with an extraordinary production that will burn in our memories for years to come.
The artists we have announced above are only a fraction of the talent we have in store for you, keep in mind that we have yet to drop line ups for any of the other five stages! We have hundreds of additional artists to announce along with an insane array of attractions, more full-size carnival rides than ever before and an unbelievable assortment of art installations and performers. With six themed areas of music, art and festivities, this will be a truly special EDC. We anticipate it being the largest dance music event ever held in North America once again! Keep an eye out for the launch of the EDC website as it will contain all the maps and information you need to ensure a relaxed and enjoyable experience.

LA TIMES COVERS TAO
No end in sight to the war in Iraq. Gasoline at record highs. A crisis in mortgage lending signaling a possible recession.
These were just a few of the big, ugly stories that plagued us in 2007.
Yet, judging from the utter bacchanalia that went down at the Los Angeles Sports Arena as some of the biggest DJs in the world gathered for the Together as One New Year's Eve party, it was a heck of a year.
Drunk to the point of invincibility, 27-year-old Floridian Colin Dooley summed up the party vibe in the crowded 20,000-person venue:
"I can't say enough good things about [event promoters] Insomniac and Go Ventures. They do this . . . right! One hundred dollars for an open-bar VIP ticket? I drank that much in beer already!"
It wasn't just the alcohol he was enjoying, of course, but also the music and the scenery -- chock-full of unusually scantily clad young women and their fellows, the majority of whom appeared drunk on something more than beer as they waved their glow sticks, chewed on pacifiers and danced up a storm.
The DJs enabled it all.
Up from 9 to 10:30 p.m., Lee Coombs brought the '80s and the aughts together as one with remixes of both Depeche Mode's "Everything Counts" and Bloc Party's "Banquet" that the crowd gulped down like candy.
Spinning from 10:30 p.m. to 2:30 a.m., Sasha and John Digweed were the main attractions. Quietly sandwiched between two giant video screens and a revolving pair of go-go dancers, the reserved icons still owned the writhing dance floor with their patented blend of simultaneously subtle and monotonous trance.
Up last, Dutchman Ferry Corsten may have had the coup of the night, though -- a rejiggered version of a U2 chestnut just perfect for the occasion. Well, almost perfect: Despite Bono's insistent vocal, all was not quiet on New Year's Day.

DJ MAG NEWS!
The annual DJ Mag reader survey responsible for ranking the top 100 DJs on the planet has just been released and the verdict is in: Insomniac Events throws some of the best festivals on the planet.
Coming in at 6, Above & Beyond have rocketed to dance music stardom in just a few short years. Respected for their energetic live shows and their studio mastery, the minds behind the Anjunabeats label have made quite a name for themselves. When asked what the best festival of 2007 was, they picked Insomniac's own Electric Daisy Carnival! The 30,000-strong crowd inspired Above & Beyond to name EDC best festival on the planet, remarking on the unique venue of L.A.'s Memorial Coliseum.
Coming in at 51, British electro purveyor Mark Knight gave his "best festival on the planet" nod to Nocturnal 2007, where he played to a 30,000+ crowd beneath L.A.'s soaring downtown skyline. Keep an eye on Mark Knight as he continues to push innovative sounds with his Toolroom Records label and his touring Toolroom Knight club events.
Moving to the Drum & Bass side of things, DJ Hype (ranked 82) also cites this year's Nocturnal Festival as the highlight of his constant touring around the globe, naming it the best festival on the planet.
Make sure to check out the DJ Mag website for the full list of the world's top 100 DJs - In the meantime, we'd like to extend a huge thanks to everyone who cited our events as some of the best they've played in 2007!!!
