The heart of Intentional Gatherings is to build a missional community that goes beyond a once a week "service" to a daily living out of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. We are a family. We cherish the authentic relationships that we have with one another, and hope that will be contagious for those seeking the same.

Here's what we do weekly, all of which you are MORE than welcome to join us for:
-Thursday evenings: FAMILY DINNER at the IG HOUSE. Bring $3 to cover dinner. This is a time to get to know new faces in a casual environment and chat about events/schedules/etc.
-Saturday morning: "Family Day" - this is a time of building relationships with the homeless in Ft. Worth. Come walk the streets with us and LOVE ON THE UNLOVED. Every Saturday morning we also swing by the women and children's shelter to play with the kids and visit the mothers. Even after we leave the streets we usually end up spending the whole day together, thus, "family day"
-Every Other Saturday: Kickball Day! After we leave the streets we head back to the IG House for some lunch (Bring your own!) and then its across the street for some neighborhood kickball! This has been a great way to get to know the families in our neighborhood.
-Sunday evening: CELEBRATION GATHERING. This is our sacred time to celebrate what has been taking place throughout the week together as a family. We spend time praying, singing, and discussing the word. This is our safe place for prayer and confession. Join us if you'd like, but it won't make much sense if you aren't serving with us throughout the week.
-Summer "Internships" (For lack of a better word...): Interested in learning what its like to function as a community? Hanging out with homeless people? Living simply? Well, we're still learning ourselves but we want to invite you to join us for the summer. More info to come. Email ighouse@intentionalgatherings.com

About me: Intentional Gatherings is a network of missional communities. A missional community is a
group of individuals who choose to selflessly do life together, with a common focus,
through God’s grace exemplifying Jesus as he lives in us. So basically, we're just a bunch of people who want to be radically changed by the Holy Spirit and then waste our lives on seeing that same radical change for others.
In the fall of 2006, we started asking ourselves some hard questions. What if the body of Christ started BEing the church, and stopped simply GOing to church? What happens when believers start intentionally living the gospel outside the walls of what we have deemed the church? (As a building)
I.G. Fort Worth is a community that is focused on the inner-city poor, destitute, and the hopeless. Through God’s grace our goal is to help them help themselves in the areas they are ready to change. Our only agenda is to build real, down-to-earth friendships in the "homeless corridor" and beg that the Lord would transform their hearts and lives through it. Whether our friends ever become "success stories" or not, they are still our friends and we will love them until it kills us.
Our family chooses to gather together on Sunday night (@the IG House-where the 6 "housers" live in the inner city) to celebrate what God has done throughout the week. Typically, this might look like the laying on of hands to lift up someone in need, or washing the feet of a broken soul. We love to sing songs at the top of our voice to the HUGE GOD we serve; the God who has transformed our hearts and interrupted our comfortable, boring lives.
Who I'd like to meet: The converted terrorist of his time who wrote most of the New Testament (The Apostle Paul), anyone who desires to see the Gospel lived out in a new & Radical way, the rejected of society, the hurting, the broken, the homeless and poor, those who need a family, those who have sacrificed their place in society to sleep under the stars, anyone who desires to see the walls broken down between the suburbs and the inner city...

IG House had a garage sale and a visit from the police because we didn't have the right permit number. Naturally, our two celebrity musicians decide to do a little "flow"...

My heart is always humbled when I read all God continues to do through each of you. In the past few weeks I have learned what it means to live so simply and I love it!! We are in intercession for you guys daily. Do not lose heart! Love you guys
