There are several businesses listed here on my space that are not really and truly business entities.
I have been looking to network with real business owners who would like to promote their service and products through a qualified network of companies and resources however, I cannot align myself with a business that is not registered or has no business history this would be dangerous for my clients and potential referrals.
If you are a business operating as a DBA you are three times more likely to be audited by the IRS, operating with no working capital, or have issues with loss of income. These issues create subsequent failure of completing operational goals in your industry.
To put it bluntly people will not take you seriously.
If you own or operate a business as:
a "Record Label"
"DJ",
"Entertainment Firm",
"Photographer",
"Athlete", "Artist", "Model", or "Promoter" etc…
You should be registered as a true company in order to reap the benefits of being a entrepreneur.
If you continue doing your craft as a DBA it will continue to be viewed as a hobby and will not benefit you at all. As a sole proprietor you pay 15% more in Self Employment Taxes that's just silly.
