Ira..s debut-album "The body and the soil" was released on Go-Kart
Records Europe in 2005 and has received very good, astonishing and
sometimes overwhelming reviews from the music-press such as OX, Rock Hard as well as Metal Hammer (hell yeah:).
Berlin..s own famous Uncle Sally..s mag even was convinced, that it should be ranked in their Ten Commandments.
The music of the band from Constance/ Germany is not hunting for fast
effects, instead it is looking for a long-lasting impact on the listener.
Within their epic soundscapes lasting from 7 to 15 minutes to fully unfold,
the 5 musicians create a breathtaking wall of sound enriched with such fine
ingredients as compact, melancholic tunes, massive walls of guitars and
rockin..noise eruptions. All in all, their sound is dynamic, tricky, full of
atmosphere and highly emotional at the same time.
On top of all mentioned, you will find the wide-ranged voice of the singer,
contributing synergistic to the complex soundscapes by adding a slight
amount of pop-appeal - especially in case of the new tracks, some of which
the band is already performing live.
Ira have already proved their live-qualities by numerous performances (as
headliner or opening band for bands like Unsane, Standstill, Transmission 0,
Fear My Thoughts, Daturah, Cult Of Luna or Heaven Shall Burn). Ira is able to send the audience on an intensive and exciting musical journey, especially when playing live on stage.
Ira doesn..t fit in certain categories They walk on their own unique
musical path for quite some time now.
Their music can be considered as a statement against the musical
easy-listening-fast-food-throwaway-meathead culture. It is a plea for finding a different approach: not just to consume music, but to explore it and to get
lost in it...
The Poisonfree Magazine wrote: "Ira are for sure one of the most outstanding
acts that come out of Germany for many years."
