"An instrumental three-piece of blistering -energetic-emotional-drone rock. Irata are devoted to creating musical landscapes through traditional and nontraditional instrumentation. The band sounds very much like a rock band jamming out and noodling around but the build-ups and outbursts transform their music into a cacophony of 70's-esque golden AM juggernauts. With synth drum, Moog (an instrument that's a combination of a piano and synthesizer), and a saxophone hooked up to a guitar amplifier as well as percussion that ranges from a standard drum set to African and Indian drums we're not talking cookie cutter sounds. It's these incorporations that defy the same ol'-same ol' rock formulas so prevalent today and with each band member having at least 15 years experience playing music, don't expect experimentation without structure - these fellas know how they make the sounds they do and it's a glorious melody indeed"

Love playing the CD in the store. Heads bob amongst the racks, from bargain DVDs in the west to metal CDs in the right, tee shirts in the north to hip hop in the south...
irata! Thanks for being a friend. Please take the time to check out the Studio's bands on our playlist. Use the links to check out the band's pages. Do what you you can for your local scene. You are the people that make the music scene happen! Tell me what you think!
Well, my brother's band, Hammer No More the Fingers (you played with them at a house show in Greenville a while back), had this big ol' CD release party a while ago, and I moshed with a bunch of big burly drunken boys. And then I insisted on being up front the whole time, and the stage was right at knee level, and I got pushed into it a whole lot. Totally worth it, though. Plus I looked like a badass for a couple of weeks.
Is the show on Saturday a house show? I've never heard of Mansion 462.
thanks jason! glad you're enjoying the songs. hopefully we'll be up that way soon. ill check you guys out when im on a computer with sound. take care! -tyler/antarctic
