Hello All,
Hello All,
Hello All,
Hello All,
Hello All,
Hello All,
Hello All,
Hello All,
Hello All,
Hello All,
Hello All,
Hello All,
We just want to tell you all that we will be playing the second annual Hometown Throwdown in our hometown of Sharon, Ma obviously. Last year was a great success, and we hope to have as many, if not more kids come out and show support and benefit the troops. Last year we kept it all local acts, but this year we have our friends from Jacobi Wichita coming from CT, as well as a couple other bands from out of town coming. It is an all day event, and should be nuts.
In other news we are continuing to write, and play shows this summer. Check out tour dates for details.
Hope to see you all on Saturday June 26th!!!!
May 12th-Shows added
Its been a while since we have updated our news, but we want to tell you all that we have some upcoming shows, and more will be added soon. This summer we will be playing frequently, and then in September we plan on touring the states for a couple weeks in preparation for our European Tour which we will update you all about as soon as dates are confirmed.
The two upcoming shows will be played with our fill-in drummer JR, while Sheel will be in California. His back is still hurting, but its getting stronger, and surgery looks to be likely in the near future. We hope to have him on our European Tour.
Other than that we have been writing with our fill-in drummer just to keep the ball rolling, but starting next week, we will be writing with Sheel on the drums again once a week. We are thrilled with that as we can get the process going to writing another record. Expect more structure, while still having the flavor of a bunch of funny guys wearing colorful clothes.
In other news check out our Facebook page and become a fan. There is a link to a radio interview on a German station with our Bass player Shan. It is pretty funny, and gives you all some insight about Irepress. Here is the link to the interview http://teildichmit.radio-frei.de/ltmr/100429_IREPRESS_radiofrei.mp3
We will update you with some more news soon. In the meantime keep rockin it and strokin it!!! Love you all!!
March 30th-Show is on!!!
Just wanted to let everyone know that our March 31st show at Northeaster University(After Hours) is still on. We finally did not have to drop off another show due to Sheel's injury. For the past week we have been in the rehearsal space with our good friend JR(Jon Reilly) on drums. It is a breath of fresh air to be rehearsing with a drummer since Sheel hasnt been able to play as of late. Sheel currently is on the road with his other band, Bad Rabbits, and you all may be wondering how he is able to play that material, and not ours. The material he plays for Irepress is much more grueling on his back since it is so technical, whereas the Bad Rabbits stuff is your basic pop drums, or just less technical to be exact. His back is still hurting through those sets though, and it is becoming more painful to even play those sets. Surgery is most likely to occur in the near future, which could put him out for a few months without playing any drums. We hope everyone can continue to give him support as it is a tough time for him in that regards. Irepress is his baby boy and it kills him not to be able to play right now.
Regardless, we will be playing shows again, and trying to keep the ball rolling. The writing process may be a little slow due to Sheel not really being able to sit behind the kit, but its coming along.
In regards to tomorrow's show, whoever wants to come please email irepress98@gmail.com, and we will put you on a list. Since it is a University show, it is mainly for the students, but outsiders are allowed if we have them on the list.
Hope to see you there and much love!!!
March 4th-Bret's Last song uploaded!
We just want to let everyone know that we have uploaded a live song which happened to be Bret's last song he ever played with us. Special Guest Ms. Noni Kai performs vocals with us as well. Check it out!!
In other news, as you all may know, we had to drop off our SXSW dates in Austin due to Sheel's back problems, but we will still be there to support our friends in bands and have a good time. Currently we are trying out some backup drummers to fill-in for Sheel while his back is healing so that we can continue to play shows at this point and so on. Our goal is to have him ready for the Fall time when we plan on touring the U.S and Europe. If he is not ok, then we have to prepare for the worst case scenario, and that is bringing a fill-in drummer. The fall is a long time away, but to continue to play shows in the meantime we need a fill-in. As you all may know, Sheels parts are very hard to duplicate, so its been a hard process so far, but we are close to finding the right fit.
We have shows scheduled tentatively right now, and if all goes well with the fill-in, then Irepress will be confirmed for the shows, and we will be playing, which is great news.
Other than that, the writing process has been going great. We are almost done with one song, and have talked about going into the studio to record it for pre-production purposes, and to have you all, our listeners, hear some new material.
We hope all is well with everyone, and will see you soon!!!!!
Much Love!!
Feb. 15th-SXSW/European Label
We are sorry to say that we had to drop off the February 27th Boston show with Hadoken, and Caspian due to Sheel's back needing rest. He is more bummed out than anyone since this back problem is causing problems for him with both Irepress and Bad Rabbits. We have also decided to drop off our SXSW dates in Austin, TX. Regardless, we will still be there to support our friends in other bands. We urge everyone who has never been to SXSW to get off your asses and get down to Austin. It is one of the best weeks of the year. We will be back there next spring.
In regards to Sheel's back, he may be resorting to surgery sometime soon just to get it over with and start the healing/rehab process. This could keep him out for a few months at the least. We dont have any touring plans until September 2010 for a U.S Tour, and then if all goes as planned, straight to Europe/UK after. If Sheel's back is still not 100% then we will have a fill-in to be named at that time.
In some positive news we are close to signing a deal with a European based label, which will make our European tour that much better when we go. Details will be coming soon!!
So those are the updates on some stuff as of now, and we have been demoing some material for the new stuff and its going great. Aside form that we hope everyone is well, and continue to give Sheel support for his back.
We love you all!!!
January 29th-12's last show!!!!
Hope everyone is having a great 2010 so far. We will be playing tomorrow night in South Hackensack, NJ @ The School of Rock. We are direct support for The Number 12 Looks Like You. This will be there last show ever, so we hope everyone comes out to show love and support for those dudes!! The show should most likely sell out, so please get there early if you want to get in.
Aside from that, the writing process is running smooth, and we will be confirming soon if we will be playing SXSW Festival in Austin, TX sometime soon. We have two showcases lined up, but we are waiting to see if Sheel's back will be able to handle double duty this year since his other band "Bad Rabbits" will be playing this year as well. If he is not able to then we are looking at the possibility of having a fill-in drummer play those showcases with us. We will keep you all posted.
Love you all!!
January 14th-Brets Last Show Part 2!!!!
Unfortunately the Jan 29th show w/ The Number 12 Looks Like You will not be Ben's first show with us. We have asked Bret to play the show with us because we have not been able to properly rehearse with Ben due to Sheel's back acting up again. It is just easier on him and the rest of us to have a familiar face play this show with us rather than killing Sheel's back before this show to get Ben situated. Ben has learned all the songs, but it is just a matter of getting them tight for the live show. If you all want to see Bret play with us one last time for a while then everyone should come out to this show!!!
In regards to Sheel, he is due to get treatment very soon, and hopefully it will help him recover quickly. Thanks for all your support and we love you all.
January 4th-Happy New Year/Benji's First Show!!!!
First and foremost we want to wish you all a Happy New Year and hope you all have a good 2010!!!
On January 29th, we will be playing in South Hackensack, NJ @ The School of Rock with our friends "The Number 12 Looks Like You". This will be their final show as a band, and we are honored to be asked to play this show with them. We hope everyone comes out to make it a special night. This show will also be the first time we share the stage with our new axe man, Benji Gram, so come out and give him a nice welcoming.
In other news, we will be resuming the writing process this month, and we have some interesting things in place for our new record. We dont want to show and tell just yet until things are confirmed, but we will be working with some exciting people on this new record. We can assure you that it will still be given the Irepress flavor, but we are also moving towards a more "structured" song writing process with catchy hooks and whatever you wanna call it. You can read all about it in this article in NoiseCreep about our plans. Just copy and paste the link: http://www.noisecreep.com/2010/01/01/irepress-new-material-european-tour/
Aside from this we will be playing shows regionally for the next year while we write, and we wont be touring until next fall. In regards to that, stay tuned because we have some big plans for the U.S dates with a couple of great and powerful acts. Keep your eyes an ears opened.
Hmmm lets see what else.....Oh yeah....we will most likely be playing SXSW in Austin again this year as Irepress has two shows booked already. It is one of the best times of the year!!!! We will have those dates posted as soon as possible!!!
We once again wish you all a Happy New Year and may 2010 bring you all lots of luck and lots of taco bell!!! We love you all!!
Dec 21st-New Video/Pics and Thank you Bret
We would like to thank all those who made Bret's two last shows the most epic way to go out. Both Boston, and NYC were sold out thanks to you all, and the mosh pits, and dancing that was going on was superior. You are the people who make us continuously inspired to make great music that snaps necks. We love you all, and you guys contribute so much to our live show. Thank you!! If you want to see a clip of the mayhem from the Boston show there is a video of "Diaspora" on you tube. Here is the link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MneZ09Eqrw8
In other news, we have some shows upcoming that we will let you all know as soon as they are confirmed. Also there is a little Irepress documentary coming in the next 3-4 weeks with live footage and interviews which are hilarious and idiotic to say the least.
We also will let you all know when Benji's first show will be, but it looks like it will be at the end of January, and in the meantime we will be writing, and playing shows regionally. We will let you know about tour plans as soon as they are confirmed. In the meantime we have posted new pictures from our NYC show this past weekend. Check em out!! Besides that continue to spread the love, and we will see you all very soon.
To every end, there is a new beginning and Bret will forever be embedded into the Irepress soul. We have been blessed and honored to have shared the stage with him for over 10 years.
2010 will be a great year!!!
Dec 4th-New Song/Shows/Big News
Man, two months go by rather quickly while the world around you seems to not be doing much. Shan is less than a week away from returning to the states after his tour with our good friends from Junius. He has many stories and adventures to be heard while spreading the disease that is Irepress. The people around Europe/UK seem to be hungry and awaiting Irepress' arrival, and we want to express that we will be there soon!!!
To make you all happy we have posted another song off our latest jump off, Sol Eye Sea I, titled "Billy". This track is held close to all our hearts since we wrote it for our late brother Billy Rehrey. We will forever remember him and always love him. R.I.P Snuggles!!
In other news, Sheel has been busy with his other band, Bad Rabbits, who just released their EP Stick Up Kids on Dec 1st. Check that sht out. www.badrabbits.com......The others have been writing material to be exposed to the Dave' brothers upon returning to the mothership where the music is created.
Now for some other news. We are sad to say that our robotic guitarist Bret will no longer be playing with us for the time being due to going back to school. We want to assure you all that he will still be very much a part of the Irepress soul!!!! We all wish him luck and hope he gets those good grades, otherwise he's GROUNDED!!! With that being said...........
Everyone, we would like to introduce you all to our new guitarist, Benji Gram(formerly of the outfit known as Eroica). Many of you who have been keeping up with our tour blogs should know that Ben has been Irepress' right-hand man for the past year with being our tech on the road. We know him as the boy genius and figure he was raised by wolves. We have already started writing new material with Ben that we're scheming up for the new year ahead to start noddin' heads and melting faces.
Now for even further updates....We will be playing 3 shows upon Shan's arrival, and these 3 shows will be Bret's last shows with us for now. Please check the tour dates for the shows, but we want to let you all know we will be playing Friday, Dec 11th in Boston, Ma @ The Middle East for Junius' CD release show along with Tombs, and Herra Terra. The following night we will be heading to NYC to play Webster Hall with Junius, Tombs and our label mates Rosetta. Both these shows should sell out so please buy tickets in advance or get there early!!!
This seems like alot of news to digest for now so we will update this with some more tasty and sexy info in a couple days about touring plans for 2010, and new material for the next chapter. We are eager to get back into the swing of things now that Sheel's back is working its way back to 100%. We will still be taking it slow with his situation but assure you things are moving forward and that we are all hungry. Preferably we would like some taco bell to cure that hunger problem. K cheers!!

Sept 13th--Check it out!!
First and foremost we just want to send our prayers to those who lost loved ones on 9/11. Sheel and Shan lost a loved one, so its a tough day for those two.
While Irepress is taking a little break, so that Sheel's back can recover, check out some of our solo stuff on our other myspace sites. Shan has some of his solo stuff on www.myspace.com/soulstrings81. Its is ambient/acoustic type stuff with vocals. You can check out Sheel's stuff on www.myspace.com/radioraheem. These are some of Sheel's older beats.
We are sure you all know this too that Sheel plays in another Boston based band called Bad Rabbits. They just finished mixing and mastering their upcoming disc, and eventually there will be new material on their myspace, but in the meantime if you all are interested check out the site at www.myspace.com/badrabbitsband. The shit is dancy and will def snap a neck or two. It shows Sheel's diversity and his different influences.
Other than that we will be playing a couple shows in December with our good friends Junius when Shan gets back from Europe with those guys. So far there is a Boston and NYC date locked in.
We will be back with more news soon. Much Love
Sept 8th--Sheel's Injury
We are once again sad to say that we will have to drop off our Friday, September 11th show for California Smile's CD Release show. Sheel's back is still bothering him and because of the technical stuff he plays on the drums, it is too difficult for him to swing it with his injury.
We have a couple shows on the books for December when Shan gets back from Europe, so by then his back should be ok to play, and then in the new year we will begin writing for our next album.
We are once again sorry for this cancellation, but health is the most important thing to us, and we want Sheel to continue playing drums for as long as possible. We thank everyone for your support and concern for his health. There is no one that feels the pain more of canceling these past few shows more than Sheel does. If he could play them then he would.
Once again we apologize, and we will all be there in Providence on Friday to support the bands that will be on the show. We hope to see you all there too!!!!
We love you all!!!
