Reading, writing (mostly science fiction and fantasy in both categories), role-playing games (which combine the two), watching "Whose Line Is It Anyway?" (still say the BBC version was far superior to the ABC version!), mucking about on my computer, video games, and www.wrongplanet.net.
Music
Rush, Emerson Lake & Palmer, Pink Floyd, Queensryche, Type O Negative, Bloodhound Gang, the Rugburns, Cancerslug, They Might Be Giants, Weird Al Yankovic, the Grateful Dead, Meat Loaf, Friedrich Chopin, the Aquabats, and others.
Movies
Mostly comedies and sci-fi - favorites include "PCU", the "Airplane!" movies, the "Star Wars" movies (of course), the "Star Trek" movies (except the fifth one - HATE!), "The Fifth Element", and "Chicago" (especially "The Cell Block Tango" - I love the line, "You know, some guys just can't hold their arsenic!").
Television
Battlestar Galactica, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, NCIS, The Unit, Doctor Who, Torchwood
Books
Quicker to list authors - Robert Heinlein (Time Enough For Love, The Number of the Beast), Cheeseburger Brown (Memoirs of a Monster, Simon of Space), Spider Robinson (Telempath, the Callahan's Place stories, the Lady Sally's stories), J. Michael Straczinsky (Amazing Spider-Man - hey, comic books can be books, too, when well-written!), Peter David (Star Trek: the New Frontier, the Tales of Sir Apropos of Nothing, Fallen Angel, MadroX), David Brin (Otherness, Sundiver, The Uplift War), Douglas Adams (the Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy), and even more...
Heroes
Dr. Steven Hawking (overcame ALS to establish himself as the foremost theoretical astrophysicist in the world), Samuel Adams (unlike his famous cousin John Adams, Sam backed the American Revolution on principle, not as the best way to keep his own neck out of a noose - also brewed a damn fine beer!).
I learn to work the saxophone,
I play just what I feel,
Drink scotch whiskey all night long,
And die behind the wheel
They've got a name for the winners in the world,
I want a name when I lose
They call Alabama the Crimson Tide -
Call me Deacon Blues...
Take the quiz: "What Kind Of Weapon Are you?" Nuclear Bomb You're a Nuclear Bomb! You are by far the most dangerous and destructive of all the weapons. You're also the most advanced. You're cold and completely indifferent, destroying everything you can without feeling, remorse or regret. You also leave a nasty aftertaste: Radiation. You plague people for years, poisoning and killing the ones you didn't destroy from the get-go. You are the only weapon with the true ability to destroy mankind. You're horrible.
Who I'd like to meet: Anyone capable of challenging their own preconceptions. Reality is not nearly so objective as we'd like to think.
