Live version of Misanthropic Fire from the in 2006 released 'Among The Ruins' album.
Before the rise of the morning star the legions of deceased deities are marching under a torched sky. Determinate for victory they go forth on the sounds of pounding kettledrums and heroic hymns. Death and chaos is their glory. No will for a new dawn. On the soil of ashes and blood all that is ruined will find its rebirth.
After the in 2006 released ‘Among The Ruins’ album Isthar returns from the netherworld with ‘Chaos Death Reincarnation’. This 3 track EP is the evolution of their work so far. What started on ‘Among The Ruins’, which was received extremely well in the metal scene, is now even more perfected. Also this release was recorded at the Excess Studios Rotterdam in the year 2008.
Since the founding of this Dutch-German metal band in 1997, Isthar released three other CD’s, ‘Isthar’ (1998), ‘The Weak Will Perish’ (2000) and ‘Among The Ruins’ (2006). The last led to live shows with e.g. Shining, Onslaught and Graveworm and many very positive reviews in both national and international metal webzines and magazines.
Still the usage of two bass guitars besides the electric guitars creates a sound that is harsh but still atmospheric and epic due to the, on the ‘Among The Ruins’ introduced, instruments as kettledrums and the typical musical arrangements.
Isthar, the Mesopotamian goddess of creation and destruction, symbolizes the dualism of life itself. Therefore it stands for the complete, both musical and lyrical, concept.
