Influence is a term that refers to the ability to indirectly control or affect the actions of other people or things. The meaning of influence therefore depends on who or what is being affected, and to what end.
Having that said we could write something like: early primitive rock'n'roll, blues, R&B, surf/hot rod, sixties garage/psych, frat rock, mod, freakbeat, proto punk, pub rock, boogie rock, glam, power pop, new wave, Killed by Death-era punk rock, early hardcore, swamp rock, the '80s garage/surf revival, paisley underground, shoegazer, garage, punk, broken blues, surf/instro, new wave/no wave, and newer noisy, trashy, primitive rock'n'roll, mostly.
"Super Band. Super Songs. Fetter Pop-Appeal und geile rote Jacken." So fasst Mathias Modica (Gomma Rec.) die Jungs von "It is Semtex" zusammen. Über die Jacken kann man streiten, beim Rest wird man ihm auf jeden Fall zustimmen. In Kunstgalerien, Fashionshows, Abrissbuden, Indie-Clubs und überall dort, wo auch die Polizei gerne mal vorbeischaut, sind sie in ihrem Element.
Die Band setzt sich zusammen aus einem Drehbuch-Autoren, der Lieder schreibt, einem klassischen Gitarrenspieler, der E-Gitarre spielt, einem Ninja, der Bass spielt und einem Drummer ohne Drama: It is Semtex!
Definitely not your average four man indie combo. "Great band, great songs. Massive pop-appeal and gorgeous red jackets" This is how Mathias Modica from GOMMA records defines the band. And can only arge about the jackets!
This so called band from munich brings together a screenwriter that writes songs, a classic guitar player with an electric guitar, a ninja that plays bass and a drummer without drama.
With their exploding plastic name and their non-commercial attitude, they have inevitably managed not only to play in the normal indie club circuit but also on some completely extravaganza locations like art galleries, fashion shows and demolition sites delivering their sort of "elegantly wasted rock and roll" to an ever growing audience.
If you have the perfect chance to attend one of their gigs you shouldn't miss it, these gentlemen are absolutely out of control!

The band was founded December 2006 in an old bunker. Since then, they managed to play in locations like The Atomic Café and 59to1 in Munich, White Trash in Berlin, Beat Club in Hamburg and All Most Famous in Vienna among others.
