About me: Check it out and check the box! www.iwillride.org
Right now decision makers are leaving the San Gabriel Valley out of their long-range transportation plans.
This is not acceptable! What are we going to do when gas is $5 a gallon and the average speed on local freeways is 10 mph all day? The Foothill Extension of the Metro Gold Line can make things better for us.
It can take cars off the road, reducing traffic and air pollution. With plans to go from Pasadena to the Ontario Airport, the extension would give us the freedom to choose a better lifestyle that is not dependent on the car. This is a call to action. We need to stand up and make our voices heard. Just log on to iwillride.org and sign the petition to show support for bringing light rail transportation to the San Gabriel Valley. Get your friends to do it too, together we can make a difference.
This is it! Thursday June 26th - 9:30 a.m. - 11:30 a.m.
ON JUNE 26TH, IT’S “HOORAY” OR “NO WAY”
At this critical meeting, a revised Long Range Transportation Plan will be presented to the Metro Board for adoption which we anticipate will include amendments that will lead to securing funding towards construction and operation of the Foothill Extension for the Metro Gold Line.
This is about people power! We need to be there to show the Metro Board that in this age of permanent high gas prices and real worries about global warming, we San Gabriel Valley residents will create the change required to meet these challenges - for the present and future generations!
