I slog it out in the daily humdrum with the rest of the working population and in my spare time, sometimes, amongst other things, I like to DJ and produce music. I've been DJing on and off for around 12 years, from back in the days when DJ's only played vinyl and never had the time to check their email during gigs. I've never taken DJing too seriously as I've allways been more of a consumer and buyer of music rather than a serious contributer of any sort, I'm also a lazy sod when it comes to recording mixes, sending out demos to promoters and generally pestering people for gigs. I'm your architypical slacker DJ. Any potential DJing career was also put into perspective when I realised that I enjoyed being on the floor with the rest of the punters much more than I did stuck behind the decks. Saying that, I do like to think I have a good understanding of electronic music and how it works because of this.
Style-wise, I'm primarily a tech-house jock that dabbles in breaks and techno and all the house/tech related sub-genres. From minimal techno, tech-house and electroclash to deep-house, progressive and everything inbetween, I like it all. For me there are only two types music, good and bad, and that goes for all genres. Just look at my top friend list and you'll get an idea of what I like.
Who I'd like to meet: Anybody and everybody. Like-minded people who appreciate the same musical tastes are the people who I am most interested in.

Jay Collins and Mark Wagstaff AKA The Funk Junkies are Djs, producers and promoters from the north of England. Their club event 'charged' is one of the UK's fastest growing house brands throwing regular sell out parties across England, Malta and Ibiza. Last year saw the guys move up a gear and begin producing. In little under 12 months their productions have gained support from the likes of Steve Angello, Deepgroove, Sonny Wharton and more. The Funk Junkies first release on Elektriqa is a double A side. First up is Fragile, a peak time record with a simple yet hypnotic riff that definitely crosses musical boundaries. Gush, on the other hand is a dubby, twisted progressive house bomb graced with a tight and catchy lead. Keep an eye out for more Funk Junkies productions forthcoming on Elektriqa.
