Jack Adaptor formed in London in 2002 from the remnants of the well-respected outfit Family Cat, and centre around the creative force of the two main protagonists, Paul Frederick and Christopher Cordoba. They like to write songs full of romance and disillusionment, detailing the everyday way people can rub against each other. Jack Adaptor's 4th album “Swimming Pool Lies” has songs that make despair and anxiety sound poignant yet comical, sincere yet ironic, familiar yet unique, set against the back drop of California or imagined California and everything that could bring to a pair of isolated songwriters conditioned to the harshness of London life. Available from shops, internet sites (including Cargo Records, itunes and Amazon) or www.jackadaptor.com.

The Family Cat was my first ever gig at the Cooperage! I also remember getting tanked on the boat trip up the river tamar in 1993 when Fred bought me a pint in the Minerva half way because I was under age. Happy days.

I was the only US winner of the 4-track CD! Just purchased entire CD and it was a good call! Humming the tunes as if they're old friends by now. I wish you obscene success!
