    ........ James Peden is a work in progress. His musical journey is not yet finished. But he has travelled more than a few miles down the track..... Born in New Zealand, but based in Melbourne, James brings an intriguing mix of influences to his song writing. And his live performances also reflect a myriad of musical genres. His onstage persona offers a blend of pop-rock melodies combined with electronic and hip-hop beats..... In his efforts to fuse rock sensibilities with electronica and hip-hop, James has created a dynamic, melodic and uplifting style of presentation..... James is not your average Aussie/Kiwi muso. He is willing to experiment with sounds. He takes risks. Whether performing solo or with a band, James exudes energy and enthusiasm. He enjoys himself on stage and he wants his audience to have a good time as well..... “I just love seeing people dance,” says James. “And I love watching them enjoy the experience of my music. It’s fun sometimes to have dance competitions with different audiences and in various venues.”.... But James’ songs are not just about jumping up and down; his music is upbeat, but his lyrics have a depth that belies the accompanying chords. Real-life situations, good times, hard times, personal problems and possible solutions are all tackled and wrestled with in his repertoire..... “I guess I want to encourage people to find something to believe in, something positive. I know there is a real meaning to life and I try to explore that in my music.”.... Since 2005, James has toured throughout Australia. He has played in churches, at youth events and has hosted outreach missions. He has performed at the Easterfest and Blackstump Festivals. In 2008 he played gigs in Albania. 2009 saw him join Sydney band Destination Life on tour..... The release of James’ debut EP, “ONE”, garnered Australian radio airplay for the single “Tired” resulting in a Top 30 TRAA Chart entry..... Citing influences as diverse as U2, DC Talk, Newsboys and Mutemath, James Peden continues to reinvent himself. While his music explores the intricacies of electronica and amplified beats, his lyrics plumb the depths of the human condition..... The journey is far from over.....     great to meet you at stump
    I just wanted to drop you a line to thankyou for your generous donation to the Aussie Christian Gigs HUGE BLACKSTUMP CD COMP. It was a huge success with hundreds of entries coming in, and heaps at the 4.30pm draw, with close to 50 prizes being drawn. And it was lots of fun with lots of happy winners. We have published the list of winners and the band on our myspace under “ see aussie Christian gigs and band news” , and also on the blackstump myspace as a comment.
