Widely recognized as one of the top guitarists in Canada, James Bryan has evolved internationally to establish himself as a hit making songwriter and producer. Starting out 2009 with a bang, James has received 2 Juno nominations for co-writing Divine Browns' single "Lay it on the Line" (up for 2009 Single of the Year) while her album "The Love Chronicles" (several songs which he co-wrote and produced ) is up for best R&B and Soul recording. As well, James has been immersed in songwriting sessions with international recording artist Nelly Furtado and talented Cuban singer/songwriter Alex Cuba. The three have found a great creative chemistry writing songs for Nelly’s upcoming album due for release later this year.

In 2008 as James focused on establishing himself on a global level, he found himself an exciting new manager in music industry veteran Michael Dixon (Ron Sexsmith, Martin Terefe, Sacha Skarbek). This connection has given him the opportunity to work extensively in the UK and LA, teaming up with two of the Uk's top writer/producers, Martin Terefe (Jason Mra , KT Tunnstal , James Morrison ) and Sacha Skarbek (James Blunt , Jason Mraz) at Kensaltown studios in West London . It's been a fruitful creative partnership, co-writing and recording with many great international acts such as Australian Idol winner Natalie Gauci, Warner US artist Jeremy Lister, Decca US artist Brendan James as well as UK buzz artist Charlotte O'Connor, (who recently signed with Sony UK and US as a direct result of the songs she wrote with James and Sacha)

Meanwhile in LA, James has written with American Idol finalist Jason Castro for his upcoming album, as well as writing songs back in Canada with new artist Jenna Andrews (Island DefJam) and Matt Dusk. Of course, not to take away from his growing world wide reputation as a musician, James also added his guitar work in 2008 to upcoming releases by acclaimed UK Jazz pianist/singer Jamie Cullum, Warner Japan artist Bonnie Pink and Motown France artist Dan Kamit.

If this wasn't enough, James continued to make his mark on the global community in 2008 by securing the Asian release of Sunshine States' debut album in Japan through Dreamusic resulting in the single, Day Job, hitting 1 on several radio stations. This notable achievement encouraged labels Beatball Music and StarOption Records to release the album in Korea and Taiwan once again garnering the 1 spot on Taiwan radio. The Asian invasion continues with a tour planned in April 2009.
