Born in Middlesbrough, but now residing in Huddersfield, James began playing guitar at the age of 16 and instantly began writing songs. His first song written was a track called Reality, and has never seen the light of day! He carried on writing and has now compiled a porfolio of over 70 tracks of varying style and quality, including those available on his 2007 debut EP, The Cold Room.
James' first gig was at the inugural, and sadly only ever, Snafflestock festival in 1999, where he appeared alongside ace guitarist Paul McCullagh of local indie band Illusion. He then solo'd for the first time in 2001, supporting Ophidian at the Huddersfield Irish Centre.
After several years of support slots for local bands, appearances at events such as Thargelia and the Colne Blues Festival, James had a brief lull, playing no solo gig for 3 years, before breaking this run with an eagerly awaited return at Zephyr Bar in Huddersfield, playing to a packed house.
James has now begun headlining his own gigs and is putting plans in place for a national tour.
James very recently supported top 10 chart act Reverand and the Makers, twice number one in the album charts, Journey South and former front man for the Seahorses, Chris Helme.
If you would like further information, a copy of The Cold Room EP, or would like to book him for your venue, please email James at jamesedwardkeen@hotmail.com

Ever wondered what to do in the event of a nuclear threat?
A while ago I found stuff that inspired me to make this film:
Living Under the Shadow of the Nuclear Umbrella
Both artistic (ensure you get the background music!) and educational, it primarily comprises official British government civil defence advice.
Though source materials are quite aged, much remains relevant today.
I encourage all to visit the YouTube page to learn more (Show support! Rate! Comment!) and responsibly circulate as widely as possible, here: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UaIim3Rj7L4
