Wake Up Singing is the debut album for James G. Barry. The album, along with its accompanying behind-the-music book entitled, “Wake Up Singing – A Decade of Expression”, is the product of ten years (1996-2006) of writing, studying, traveling, and composing. In this first album, Barry defines his medium - the music is eclectic and earthy reaching from rock to folk to alternative genres. An intimate look at a seemingly timeless expression of spirit, urge, and inspiration - the artist backs up his music with writings about his musical influences, ideologies, and continuing spiritual journey. Wake Up Singing music and lyrics are written by James Barry and performed with the help of other musicians. The artist, a New York City native son, works and lives in Manhattan.
