James Kettle's Comedian Bio

Bio

James Kettle is a stand-up comedian and writer-for-hire. He is not a happy person. James likes to describe his comedy as “bleak” and “interminable”, and says that the fact that people are willing to laugh at him on a regular basis is in many ways “the final insult”. He believes everyone is out to get him, and employs humour as a defence mechanism. Ha ha ha. In Spring 2007, James will be appearing in “28 Acts In 28 Minutes” on BBC Radio 4, as well as starring in his own self-penned sketch show pilot, “James Kettle’s Skyscraping Ambitions”, on BBC7. "James Kettle has a distinct persona that I think will take him a long way" - Stephanie Merritt, comedy critic of the Observer “Like a cross between Simon Amstell and Bill Hicks, his dark twisted and deadpan take on life had me laughing throughout…I loved him!” BBC Three Counties “Refreshing tongue-in-cheek philosophicomedy…somewhere between Eeyore and Simon Munnery” Daily Information “There’s definitely a place for angry young men.
