Young Hollywood’s newest rising star and NICKELODEON’s soon-to-be biggest heartthrob is James Maslow! He's a singer, dancer, actor and one to look out for, as he has made his breakout debut on the small screen with his first major role as “James Diamond.” This young, hot triple threat has set to showcase his formidable talents in NICKELODEON’s newest musical comedy series produced in collaboration with Sony Music, “Big Time Rush.” which premiered November 2009, the musical series is about a 4 best friends from Minnesota who give up hockey to make it big in LA after winning an “American Idol” style talent search. Born in New York City, this young rising star has always been destined for the stage. After moving to La Jolla, California at the age of six, Maslow joined the San Diego Children’s Choir which performed in large venues like Padres stadium. Maslow later attended multiple performing arts schools that further refined his abilities to sing, dance and act. His previous experience on stage includes “Les Miserables” (Marius), “Grease” (Danny), and “Footloose.” Trained in opera, Maslow stole the spotlight with his role in “La Boheme”. James made the transition from the stage to the small screen with his first television role on NICKELODEON’s “iCarly” playing the role of “Shane,” the love interest of Carly and Sam stuck between both girls who fight over his attention. Since his appearance as “Shane,” Maslow has already begun to spark a buzz among teen fans, and his good looks already have many comparing him Zac Efron. James and the boys of “Big Time Rush” have been working with hit-makers like Desmond Child—who has worked with stars like Bon Jovi, Ricky Martin, Cher, Kelly Clarkson, and Katy Perry. The public can expect great music, lyrics, and performances on the small screen as well as live performances during their 2010 summer concert tour. In addition to acting and performing, Maslow is a talented athlete, having played on his high school’s soccer, baseball, and basketball teams. As a true Southern California boy, James loves the outdoors and has a passion for surfing, riding motorcycles, and mountain climbing.
