James Meder is a talented up-and-coming singer/songwriter from Monterey, California. Different from many of the other musicians in the singer/songwriter category, James is able to create a large amount of depth in a song obtainable by few others. With the help of his fingerstyle, intricate guitar work and imaginative word play, James can captivate a crowd and end the show with everyone in the audience wanting more.
Growing up in Granite Bay, a suburb of Sacramento, California, James was brought up with rock music of the sixties that his dad would spin on their old turntable. While learning piano at the young age of 7, playing in a bell choir at a neighborhood church, and going on to play clarinet in middle and high school, James was introduced to music early in his life.
At the age of 14, James was introduced to the guitar and never looked back. He started up a rock band in high school, but quickly discovered that a mellower and more personal take on music was a more comfortable choice. During the first semester of his college life at California State University, Monterey Bay, James began playing solo and started wowing the crowds that started making it out to every one of his hometown shows. During the past two years, James has performed in many cities throughout California.
On January 1st, 2008 James released his first EP entitled Endless Highway and has received praise from casual listeners and serious musicians alike. James hopes to spread the word of his music by continuing to tour in the months ahead and hopes that you would join him on his journey. Look for James Meder in your town soon.
