Born on the 15th of October 1989 in Kortrijk, Belgium.
I started playing the piano when I was eight years old, and now it's still my favourite instrument. Now I'm studying jazz piano at the Royal Conservatory of Antwerp, where I'm taught by Christoph Erbstösser.
At the moment, I play with my own quartet, the 'Kem Heyndels Quartet' and 'Katrien Coppens Quartet'.
From April 2008 'till March 2009 I played with the 'Freddy Sunder Bigband' (www.freddysunderbigband.be); now playing with the 2240 BigBand Geel
I also work as arranger on demand for large bands, as well as small bands and individuals. I wrote arrangements for 'Odiel' (www.odiel.be), 'Heulse Concert Band' (www.heulseconcertband.be), 'The Scaldish New Orleans Jazz Messengers', 'BazArt' (www.bazart.biz) and many others.

Dag Jan, Ik ken Dominique van bij Soul Rebel Salute, dat was een project van Cocojr. Ik heb na een optreden eens met hem, Coco en nog een paar anderen iets gedronken op een terrasje. Ik ben wel van plan om binnenkort eens naar andere projecten van Dominique te gaan kijken. Ik deed absoluut niet graag viool, maar dat moest van mijn ouders. Tegen dat ik dan eindelijk piano mocht leren, was ik al een stuk ouder en was het moeilijk te combineren met mijn studies. Ik ben erover aan het nadenken om binnenkort zelf een piano te kopen en terug verder te doen. Ik ben in 1998 een 3-tal weken in Calcutta geweest. Muggenzalf meedoen, geen schrik hebben van grote insecten die 's nachts beginnen rond te kruipen in de badkamer, niet te veel nadenken als je in een taxi zit want in Calcutta met al dat verkeer is dat een hel... Wat de armoede en bedelaars betreft, ik heb gedaan alsof ik naar een film keek, want anders is het heel moeilijk om daar mee om te gaan. Niet op ingaan als mensen aandringen, want het stopt niet. Voor de rest vallen de mensen daar wel mee hoor, heel vriendelijk. Heel mooie natuur, gebouwen, ... Goede reis en laat iets weten hoe het geweest is! Groetjes, Chilli
