Biography:
Beginning on the guitar at age 12, Jason knew from the start that he desired a career playing
music. Drawing his inspiration largely from various shred guitarists, metal bands, and forms
of classical music, he has always aimed to push the limits of his playing while still
keeping it very musical and dark. His personal musical philosophy places top priority on creating powerful, emotional, and expressive melodies, while using speed and flash to add intensity, rather than as the primary
focus.
Jason has played previously with atmospheric metal band Rain Fell Within, as well as
progressive metal band Ephemeral Sun, and is currently the guitarist of the atmospheric, Celtic-, World-, and Folk-music-infused Doom Metal band Todesbonden, and is also founder, composer, and guitarist in his
own
band, Ol Sonuf.
Todesbonden has played with Therion and The Gathering, as well as Thyrfing, Primordial, and
Moonsorrow at the Heathen Crusade, and has headlined at Jaxx Concert Hall and Nightclub
in Springfield, VA. They have recently completed their debut LP "Sleep Now, Quiet Forest," which was released on June 21, 23, & 24, 2008, in Germany, the rest of Europe, and North America, respectively. Ol Sonuf is also currently working on material for both a 5-song EP, entitled "Glass Idols,"
as well as an concept album LP entitled "While Rome Burns," based on the rise and fall of

Jason is also pursuing work in Film and Video Game Music Scoring, and is currently scoring the music for Horror Creek Manor, a 13-episode horror TV series that Director Rob Stull describes as "Tales from the Crypt with an added twist of Twilight Zone" (Indie Slate Magazine, Feb 2007).
