Jason Cerda was born and raised in the D.C. Metropolitan area but has recently stolen spotlight beyond his hometown. Although he has grown up on American soil, he has not lost his true Puerto Rican roots. His music is a mix of both R&B and Pop and he can sing in both Spanish and English. Having started his career at the age of five, Jason has always put his best efforts into his shows and work. He began his work as an entertainer after being exposed to the night life at a young age. In his past, he has been featured in many independent films and commercials for State Farm Insurance and Toyota; and in 2005 he was voted one of DC's sexiest bachelors. One of his first and most cherished starting points was being a back up dancer for Platinum recording-artist Mya, and one of Disney's newest pop-culture sensations, Cali. However, it was only the starting point for him. Growing up, Jason's biggest role models were Michael Jackson, Usher, and Prince. These multi-platinum artists inspired him to go above and beyond to make his own music. He has recorded with producer Max Methods and most recently Hugo Diaz of the Diaz Brothers. Jason made it to the top twelve finalists out of thousands in Ne-Yo's search for a new member of the Compound family. In October 2008, Jason participated in a local contest to open up for T.I. and T-Pain at the Patriot Center on George Mason University's campus. He took the competition by storm after bringing in over 43,000 votes and nominations. His results were sensational and his performance was definitely one to remember. Many people may recognize him from his flips and moves in New York City's annual Puerto Rican Day Parade Festivals, but this is just the beginning. He has performed in D.C. and L.A's hottest night clubs and has had his songs played on Europe's best radio stations. When asked what he loves to do the most, his answer is always "to entertain." His life is performing. His love is entertaining. And his dream is to make it. With each stepping stone, he is getting closer to making it come true.
