Sounds Like
What I've been told the country stuff sounds like: Vince Gill and Rascal Flatts, the soulful stuff sounds like: John Mayer, I think I sound like...well...ME.
Jason Lee Thomason is quickly becoming a name that is recognized by the Nashville songwriting community. He’s been told by many in Nashville that his voice and melodies simply “make you stop and listen.” It’s easy to become just another singer/songwriter in this town, but when people hear him for the first time singing on stage, they don’t just keep on walking by, they stop and watch. One of Jason’s first gigs in Nashville was at Tootsie’s Orchid Lounge as part of Billy Block’s Locals Only event. He’s quickly become a favorite at other venues such as Stage Write @ Limelight, now Blue Bar, Hotel Indigo in downtown Nashville and Frisky Berry Coffee Company’s Writer’s Night in Franklin. His music has seen plenty of airtime at radio stations in North Florida, South Georgia and South Alabama. As part of the Billy Block show, Jason’s tune “Rose Colored Glasses” was aired on WKDF 103.3. He has co-written with hit songwriters in Nashville and other writers whom are just looking for that first cut. Jason and his long time friend, producer and co-writer Tory Harris teamed up in late 2007 to write eleven original songs to cut Jason’s first country music album. The self-titled album was released on June 13th, 2008 and at the CD Release party alone they sold over 150 copies and were on their way to many more sales. The CD is now available all over the internet including itunes. Jason and his band had generated a nice fan base in the North Central Florida, South Georgia area and Jason decided to make his move to the neon lit streets of Nashville in late June of 2008. He has achieved much success on one of the biggest indie artist sites on the web, ourstage.com, taking home the 1 spot in the Southern Rock genre with “Blue Collar Man” in August ’08 and 1 in the Country genre with his hit song “Southland”. This success brought him a major feature on AOL Music’s Country Artist page as the “Top New Country Artist”. Jason has also had many other top 10 spots on ourstage.com. Jason has been the state runner up in both Georgia and Florida as part of the Colgate Country Showdown in 2007. He is affiliated with BMI Nashville as a songwriter and his publishing company, Jason Lee Thomason Music. Jason resides just outside of Nashville in Spring Hill with his wife Leonda and their three boys, Gabe, Ethan and Cole. He attributes all of his success to growing up in a close knit family, his wife and children’s total support and close friends who stand behind him. If you haven’t heard this guy yet…you’re missing out.
