Featuring Larry Bartley: Double Bass & Mike Pickering: Drums. To my 10 piece: AcOUTASTiC BOMBASTiC: featuring Marcina Arnold: Voice, Percussion, Guitar Amanda Drummond: Viola, Voice, Percussion Neil Charles: Double Bass, perc Paul Jayasinha: Cello, Trumpet Benet McLean: Violin, Alto Sax, Vocals Trevor Mires: Trombone, Bass Trumpet Orphy Robinson: Vibes, Marimba, Steel Pan, Perc Soprano Sax Sebastian Rochford: Drums, Guitar, Piano, Perc, Voice Julian Siegel: Tenor, Soprano Saxes, Bass Clarinet, Flute, Bass & me, Jason Yarde: Alto, Soprano, Baritone Saxes, Voice, Perc, Piano. WhatuGot!?!WhatuNeed!?!.....
InfluencesNUFF!!! Especially Good Vibes & Good Music. Everyone I've ever had the pleasure (& pressure) to play with! (details may follow...)
Sounds Likesomething just came out of the basement......... OK!, So now I'm getting round to putting up some tracks you can decide for yourself! YES, OK! The (1st track) is less about the BASS & BELLY and more about the HEART & HEAD. (You might say.... Me trying to do a Hermeto Pascoal/Pat Metheny/Wayne Shorter/Ivan Linns....Playing all the instruments and making all the sounds - vocal and otherwise! I would saying singing but I know too many great singers to describe what I do as such!!!) Lets call it the quiet before the storm.----- The (2nd track) you may well have heard here before! Its something that my brother and I (miBruv James Yarde) wrote for his "Colour Of Life" Project - Also featuring the original REAL DEAL HORNS Sean Corby: Trumpet, Harry Brown: Tromboning & Richard Olatuja on Percs.----- The other stuff is brewing.........and I hope you'll find it suitable smelly.... If you want to bless me some more, its ALL GOOD!!!........................---------JASON YARDE: Short Profile 2006--------- Jason began playing Alto and Soprano saxophones with the Jazz Warriors at 16, making him the youngest ever member of this important powerhouse Big Band. Since then, a member of Quite Sane, several of veteran South African drummer, Louis Moholo's groups, Afro Blok, Mano Ventura's Noh Ground, Phil Robson 8tet, Nikki Yoeh's Infinitum+ and his own band, the multi award winning, j-life. Yarde's skills cover a wide world of music having performed with Dennis Brown, Gregory Issacs, Alton Ellis, SuperBlue, Shadow to the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra & Britten Sinfonia, and the big bands of McCoy Tyner, Roy Ayers, Cleveland Watkiss, Jean Toussaint, Sam Rivers, Hermeto Pascoal, Andrew Hill, Hugh Masekela/Jazz Jamaica Allstars and Manu Dibango, arranging and directing the later 2 projects for the Barbican Centre. His was the pivotal role in "Urban Classic", a project bringing together the BBC Concert Orchestra under Charles Hazelwood alongside producer DaVinChe, MC's Tor, Bruza, Purple, Pase, beatboxer Faith SFX & Cellist Matthew Barley. The first collaboration of BBCRadio3, 1Xtra, Serious & BiggaFish. He is a popular Composer/MD among many forward-looking Dance companies such as Phoenix, JazzXchange, BOP & numerous Jonzi-D projects. Most recently his playing and arranging can be heard live and on albums from Julie Dexter, Keziah Jones, Two Banks Of Four, Bembe Segue, Terri Walker & Ty. As a producer he's been responsible for a number of albums in Dune records catalogue including Jazz Jamaica Allstars'-Massive, Juliet Roberts'-Beneath the Surface and the latest releases form fellow saxophonists and MOBO and Mercury Award nominated artists Soweto Kinch and Denys Baptiste. He has performed and giving workshops around the world from South Africa to Sarajevo taking in India, Mexico, Peru, Ghana, Senegal, Nepal, Canada, Australia, China and the Atlanta Olympics. He will soon be recording his own trio 'WAH!' and a new project; Acoutastic Bombastic commissioned for the Cheltenham Jazz festival 2005. -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------Yes Good Folk! Just a few words of THANX. Thank you for the visit, the words and the goodness! Thanks for the pressure, all those who have been on my case about outing certain MUSIC! + All those who have been waiting patiently!
