"The father of [two] gears his music around events in his life. Gripping lyrics run the gamut from waiting for true love to betrayal by a close friend. Catchy melodies hold a strong blues feel, but are mildly seasoned with a down home county warmth that helps convey the sincerity of each song.
But, it is Mr. Scott’s rich voice of gritty satin, which makes his music instantly compelling. Although born and raised on Long Island, his deep, raspy tone is pure Delta blues in origin, and is as intoxicating as southern whiskey."

Jay, wow, what a fantastic night at the Patchogue Theatre. I can't thank you enough ... I was planning on coming just to enjoy, but being invited to sing on the live album was a really wonderful surprise. I still can't get Sometimes out of my head ... you are such an amazing, heartfelt writer. And all your friends & fans & family are great people. Thanks again & hope to see you soon! love! Jes
Live album recording was EXCELLENT and I was glad to be there...
I wrote about it a little in my blog: Jay is this incredible, soulful singer and songwriter who reminds me a little bit of Joe Cocker, but without John Belushi wiggling around on SNL making fun of him. (Maybe someday.) (Okay, I guess that’s not really possible for a lot of reasons.) He rented out the lobby of the Patchogue Theatre...(Read more...)
I knew just how good you are in the 1st 30 seconds of Sometimes. Beautiful lyrics. Gorgeous Vocal. Almost cried when I heard it last night for the first time.
Your voice has all the character and depth that puts you in the same league as the stars we grew up with.
As I listened to the rest of your songs, I was thrilled to find another artist more like me.. in your ability to offer starkly different styles of music in a group of songs. Yes!! I am so happy to have you as a friend. Honored, really. And I will spread the word about you wherever I can. all my heart, Steven
