My Dad (John C. Burrows), and all of those close to me who have moved on to a better place (Dad K., Hoff., Ken, the Glump, Papa R., Nana R., etc. etc...) Neil Peart, Stewart Copeland, Buddy Rich, Gene Krupa, Max Roach, John Coltrane, Johnny Cash, Edith Piaf, etc, etc... And of course my boys, and Love.
My professional career as a drummer has spanned over 16+ years, 15 of which were spent as The Tea Party. I currently play DW Drums, Sabian cymbals, Remo drumheads, and Promark drum sticks; my world instruments include the Djembe, Dumbek, Darabukkah, Tabla, etc.
The time I spend performing live is where I can fully display my passion for what I do. Although, I can honestly say some of the best times of my life have been spent in the studio setting recording some beautiful music.
My opportunities as a musician have provided me with resources that I can take advantage of for charity. In particular, I have made contributions to my favourite charity, Transition 2 Betterness, which is a wonderful organization that provides a loving place of comfort for those surviving cancer along with their families. I became involved with T2B after a very personal experience and have since completed 12 online auctions of music memorabilia, "meet and Greet" packages, and 3 "24 hour Drumming Marathons" totaling over $250,000. It enables music fans to acquire rare collectibles, and meet their music heroes; but most of all gives great things to this charity. Please visit their site!
