Thanks for checking out my little creative corner...
I should first mention that the subject of a few of these songs you'll hear here is my uncle, "Uncle J". Although he's family, he's not exactly the most pleasant person in the world... Sadly, the best way my family knows how to deal with him is by laughing at his idiosyncrasies. Not necessarily having the benefit of knowing the real person (and I do mean that sarcastically), hopefully you can still find some humor in it!
About The Music:
My goal is to create music that sounds as professional and dynamic as possible given the instruments and technology I have at my fingertips. By no means am I trying to accomplish anything cutting-edge or radio-worthy... I'm just sharing my experiments in sound, with the hopes that some of you may actually enjoy the music or at least find it interesting. There is a somewhat limited selection for now, but I do plan on adding some more original work.
About Playlist Songs:
- "What A Stoop!" is a song my family is all too familiar with... I took a taped dinner table conversation during Thanksgiving, where my uncle went on a rant about a few people who he has this vendetta against (can we say paranoid and delusional?) and mixed it to music. The music was originally just another instrumental piece in the style of 80's music, where the synth bass line is the driving melodic force in the song. There were also a lot of attempts at some modern pop production touches, which I was just playing around with. The song then went nowhere as far as coming up with lyrics, so then the idea came to me to put the REAL Uncle J to music... so what you're hearing is the REAL DEAL (scary, huh?)
- "Frozen Sorrow" is an original instrumental track, which I really like. Not sure if I'll do anything else with this one or not.
- "Intrinsic Integrity" is another original instrumental demo as of right now... in a very unfinished state.
- "Anywhere" is a parody of Fleetwood Mac's "Everywhere" written by Christine McVie. A long time ago, I recorded about 10 songs (5 cover/parodies; 5 original) with Uncle J being the subject, for my family to laugh at, and this is a second attempt of a song from that CD. I re-recorded it just to play with mixing, effects and instrumentation. I really like the intro part here where the guitar was played at 1/2 or 1/4 speed (I can't remember which) and sped it up to mimic what Lindsey Buckingham did originally. Also the bass line was played on an acoustic and altered digitally. The part I wish I could strip from it is the keyboard... I used an actual keyboard (and a very unsophisticated one at that) but should've stuck with programmed ones instead. If you listen carefully, you'll hear the remnants of a drum machine that was used from that keyboard.
- "Whore (instrumental cover)" is a Dalbello song that I recorded just to see what I could come up with using MIDI programming, drum machines, digital effects, and electric guitar... Despite the electric guitar being slightly flat, it turned out better than I had expected, so I wanted to share it with Lisa Dalbello fans.
