The Heretics are a revolving cast of musicians so you never know just who or what you might get. Not unlike a box of chocolates. However, the main ingredient in this blend is leader Jeff Hix on acoustic guitar, piano, and vocals. Jeff has been a fixture on the Atlanta music scene for years, playing his signature blend of folky/bluesy/jam/pop/rock. Nobody else does 'em like Jeff do 'em. .............................................................................................................
Guitar/ Tim Butler, Nelson Nolen ....................................................................................................................
Bass/ Dustin Sargent, John Schwenke, Sam Sims, John Willingham ...................................................................................................................
Drums/ Jeff "Torpedo" Hudis, Eric Johnson, Morgan Baruzini, Will Groth ................................................................................................................. Over the years we have had hundreds of other musicians play with the Heretics. However, space limitations prevent us from listing them all here. Hopefully those not mentioned will not be offended and the Heretics apologize in advance to anyone we may have hurt or peed on.
Influences
Lynyrd Skynyrd, Elton John, Jim Croce, Chopin, Johnny Cash, Nick Drake, David Bowie, Bob Marley, Led Zeppelin, Three Dog Night ...
Sounds Like
James Taylor meets the Allman Brothers with a shot of old school funk, all the while dry humping the leg of Van Morrison. Lots of loose jamming.

For over a decade, Jeff Hix & the Heretics have been a staple in the Vinings music scene in Atlanta, Georgia. Their home base is the Old Vinings Inn, a 130-year-old house with a first class restaurant and a kick ass attic bar, and their unique blend of classic rock with funk, folk & reggae accents has made them an Atlanta local favorite for years. Band members have included the likes of the late Ron Harville (Ike & Tina Turner, Junior Walker & the All Stars), Sam Sims (Janet Jackson, Michael Jackson, Bette Midler, Mariah Carey), Dustin Sargent (Sean Costello, Pato Banton), John Schwenke (Chris Duarte, Andrew Black), John Willingham (DoubleWide), Tim Butler (Ton of Honey, Filter Kings), Nelson Nolen (Tommy Thompson band, Deja Blue), Jeff Hudis (Chris Duarte, Breeze Kings) and Eric Johnson (The Theodis Ealey band).
