a semi-complete list of bands & mates (please correct me)
1966-67
no name lip sync all star band in Rob Andrews' garage..we all took the name of our fav Rock Star..I wanted to be Mark Lindsey but was told that PR & The Raiders sucked and so I had to be Mick Jagger...
Ted Moriarity, Daryl Ciantar, Steve Eckert, Rob Andrews, Ed Cusson, Alan Cusson, maybe a Lewis or two (Dave, Jim), who else?
1968
I wanted to be in a band so bad...just hung around with some kids from the wrong side of town (the RICH side) while they tried to get a band together, no go..but Bruce Erley did put together a cool vacuum cleaner powered pump organ
also I played drums in a local "Up With People" group, good experience, lots of shows...
1969-71
picked up bass in order to play with Manuel Almagro, Steve Eckert, & Dave Derench. asst names- Southbound Train, The American Way, at some point Rick Wilhide & Ned Pitkin joined...
1971-72
a short lived but cool trio with Jonathan Hale & Rob Rocks..Jon was an amazingly creative force,
finally connected with a pro - Mike Hayden, I convinced Manuel to join and we had a nice little trio called Retrospect, and then later, Circus. Rick Wilhide, Jerry Boss, Jimi Oechsler, Bob Mongell were all members at various times...
1972-74
Jimi Oechsler brought me to jam with Frank Woods & George Gould (Quiet Ones, Ghost Dance), certified Local Rock Stars, it worked out & we formed Marvelous Marbles...
1974-77
the Marbles went poof, Mike Hayden had been with Brian MacDonald in Electric Cowboy. he had me come in to play with himself, Brian, and Roger Briggs (American Blues Exchange, Ghost Dance, Captain Obvious, etc) I learned how to play songs in keys other than E & A. Ed Bradley (Quiet Ones, Poison, Liquid Light) came in when Roger left..at some point we changed the name to Brian MacDonald & Electric Cowboy, and then to The Gold Rush Band (joined occasionally by Stan Slossberg on Sax, Tambourine, & Vibes)....E.C. arranged & recorded the Planet of the Apes record for TPI ( see www.myspace.com/theplanetoftheapes ), appeared in the 1974 Macy's Thanksgiving Parade, played 4 nights at Max's Kansas City, hung out & recorded odd tracks with Larry Young...etc... I met Marco Squatrito (ManMarcus, the Big Tones) during this time and we formed a fast friendship and musical partnership that lasted until his untimely death in 2005...
1977-79
Silverado came back from the West Coast with a new band & LP. when the call went out for some new band members I, along with just about everybody around, auditioned. I got the job. Carl Shillo & Buzz Goodwin were the main guys, joining at the same time were George Senkbeil (later - Rex Havoc) & Joey Grieco. Tony O'Keefe, former bass, stayed to play guitar for awhile. Joey, Rex, & I had an original side project called the Rydells. we used to open for Silverado sometimes....
1979
the work dried up for Silverado & they decided to be a duo so Joey, Rex, & I joined up with Brian MacDonald & Ed Bradley to form The Last Band. too good a band to not have original music....
1980-83
back to Silverado for another shot at the big time, Carl, Buzz, with Mike Hayden coming aboard. the guys had new songs and we got a one record deal with CBS. On the road most of the time, many shows, new friends, Buzz, Mike and I did a bunch of sessions for various Richie Cordell projects.. first single off the new Silverado record made it to 92 on the national charts... Happy Days!...
1983-88
moved to Boston, met up with Kerry Fusaro & Mike Bierylo, we had first met when their band opened for Silverado. we formed Axle, later Body Politics, with Micki Pipes and Celeste Dorage..somebody else was originally on drums but his name escapes me..
also met Bruce Millard & Kevin Salem when I advertised for players to work on a Marco project. did a lot of home recording with Kevin while he got ready for his own shot at the big time....
1989-2008
all sorts of stuff...solo projects, soundtracks, Bohemian Quartet w/Stan Reynard, Paul Kolesnikov, & Chelsea Gibson... Men & Volts with Phil Kaplan, Jon Proudman, & Bruce Millard and then later with Wes & Cas Kaplan, also with Phil the Funeral Barkers...Married With Chitlins with Chris & Liz Lannon, Amy Basse, Stu, Steve Sadler, Scottie Scott & Donnie....Mambo Sons with Scott Lawson, Tom Guerra, & Mike Hayden.. lots of freelance & subbing, dates with Chris Monti, Wayne Potash, Amy Bass & the Grasshoppers, etc... Silverado reunited with Alex Shillo joining us...composing various pieces for Dancer/Performance Artist Paula Hunter and the Jump Company...as well as the New Federal Hillbillys and an ongoing crazy experimental series with Creed Dew, Mike Samos, and an everchanging cast of really wonderful and creative types...42 years and counting...

Sounds Like
the new track - Kiss Me - is an excerpt from a longer piece that I composed for the dance company JUMP. The drums are by Roland Digital and I played everything else.
Jeff Keithline is a composer/performer who has collaborated, recorded, and performed with a wide variety of artists from pop hitmaker Richie Cordell to dancer/performer/choreographer Paula Hunter. In his 35+ year career Jeff has jumped from rock bassist on the pop charts to studio session player to experimental electronica to acoustic swing to serious composer. Projects planned for 2009 include collaborations with Paula Hunter, Folk/Blues artist Chris Monti, Boston composer Phil Kaplan, and a series of reunion performances with the bands Silverado and Men & Volts
Jeff has had a single in the Billboard Hot 100 and toured in an oldie show as the opening act for Steppenwolf (in the same year...1981...jeez).
In 1988 Jeff wrote and recorded songs for the indie Cult Classic 'Lucky Guy" and Jeff's 2001 recording, "Jeff Now" was picked by The Providence Journal as one of the Best Indie Releases of 2001/2002.
Sort of a concept, these rotating tracks are from Jeff's Omni-Pop Trilogy of Lucky Guy, Jeff Now, and Jeff Now is Mr Positive. The entire collection may be streamed at www.wigwax.com or at www.rattlehead.com
Oh man, I'm sorry Jeff. Don't worry, you didn't miss too much. Frank Zappa's ghost appeared for about 13 minutes, and half the crowd turned into a huge pile of cash that we all used to buy guns with, but that's it. See you next time and I hope you start feeling better!
Hi Jeff, Thanks for the add request. Nice tracks on your page. :) When you get a chance, please stop in for a drink and check out our venue. Thanks again, take care, Joann
Mr. Positive! "Lost house Dance" is tres Cool! "Solo Bass Dance" is cool too! Hey, I've spent my share of time in a bass-mint and I appreciate the bass! Thanks a mint! Your extra-terrestrial friend on Earth, Zoomar
