Listening to the sweetly flowing tracks on “Trips to the Empire State” will only leave you wanting to hear more. Singer/songwriter, Jeff Martinez, truly understands the delicate relationship between lyric and melody. Never lacking passion, when Jeff sings his songs, it’s as if he’s singing them for the first time. His music carries around with it the heart of a born and raised Brooklynite. There is definitely city soul at his music’s roots.
Jeff picked up his first guitar at the age of 16, inspired by music legends such as Jimi Hendrix, Eric Clapton, Bob Dylan and Paul Simon. By the age of 18, he began shaping his own creative ability as a musician by writing his own songs. His debut album released in 2006 has been described as having a “beautiful and thoughtful style.” Jeff is currently writing his second album to be released later this year. One thing is for certain, whether you’re listening to his music or having a conversation with him, Jeff Martinez exudes genuine energy.
