Persuasions fans & music lovers everywhere have reason to be ecstatic. Jerry Lawson, lead singer of the legendary a cappella group for 40 years & 22 albums, is back---and he still ain’t got no band.
After leaving the Persuasions in 2003, Lawson announced that he was absolutely through with a cappella forever. Jazz combos and big bands beckoned. But on his way to Russia to record a solo album with the Moscow Philharmonic, fate revealed other plans.
Along came Talk of the Town, an a cappella group that had been waiting for Lawson for 35 years---really. Jerry has just finished what he regards as the masterpiece of his life--creating harmonies he long dreamed of, but could never realize. So remarkable was the chance meeting of Lawson and his new group that it was all filmed for a forthcoming documentary.
The new CD, Jerry Lawson: Talk of the Town, features 20 stunning tracks (recorded on good ol’, warm analog) and a few wonderful guests. Lawson: from a cappella to a cappella. The odds of it all happening are almost as good as winning the lottery.

Jerry, I've been a Persuasions fan for many years, and have met you and the other guys years ago. When I get a little ahead of my bills, I will order the Talk of the Town CD. I'd like to play it on my radio show, Lotsa A Cappella on KDHX in St. Louis.

Jerry......how are you bro...? "Thank You" for your comment.....I appreciate it much. You said I should be "Proud" of their work,and I feel you on that....but for what I feel regarding their accomplishments,I can't find the words that would do them justice......they all seem far too shallow. When I reflect back on not only "what" they did....,"when they did it"....commands a certain huge amount of respect,and it blesses me when fellow musicians.....their peers...acknowledge their contributions to the industry,and the doors they helped "KICK DOWN"....simply by approaching those doors w/ a product that could in no way be denied. Your Persuasions....one of my all-time favorite groups!!!..."Talk Of The Town".....seems to be a very nice body of work also ...."Take A Bow".Whenever I'd put a singing group together(back in the day), If the would be members could'nt help me perform what you guys were doing.....had to let-em go....lol.(What can I say?)
