   About Jimmy Pettit
Jimmy has been a part of the Austin Music Scene since the mid-seventies and has been involved in diverse projects such as the jazz/fusion band "The Shoes"(with Rick Cobb of "Bloodrock" fame), seminal Raul’s punk bands "The BodySnatchers" and "The Rockin’ Devils", "The Boozeweasels" and "The Joe Ely Band" ( first in the mid-eighties and re-joining again several years ago). He has recorded for Warner/Elektra and MCA/Sony, Hightone Records and Antone’s Records and toured / recorded with the late John Campbell (N.Y.C. blues guitarist), Joe Ely( http://www.ely.com/), Rolling Stones’ saxman Bobby Keys, David Grissom(http://www.davidgrissom.com/), Lloyd Maines, Mason Ruffner(http://www.masonruffner.com/), Joel Guzman, Cruel 13, Kelly Willis, Toni Price, Django Walker(http://www.djangowalker.com/band.html) and legendary Austin ensemble “Shoulders”( http://www.shouldersmusic.com/), among others.

Goodness! I'll have to Consult the Tree to see where we tie in! They came down from S. Carolina, pre-Rev. War, etc. I know we have some folks in Texas though, from way back! (we lived there too for abt 20 years) My 85 yr old mother was telling me about some Texas Pettits who came to visit when she was a teenager, and never saw them again. Will let you know if I find out anything.
