About JODDSKI -Artisten tidligere kjent som Jørg-1
Joddski (formerly known as Jørg-1) is best known as the rapper in now-defunct Norwegian hiphop pioneers Tungtvann. When Tungtvann broke through around Christmas 1999 they revolutionized Norwegian hip hop with a no holds barred, in your face mentality, and lyrics about drinking, fucking and braggadocio, combined with social matters. With producer Poppa Lars, Joddski toured Norway excessively, and managed to release 4 albums, 3 eps, a dvd, ending with a greatest hits set “96%” in 2007. This was followed by an extensive farewell tour across the country, playing to sold-out venues in most cities.
Now this chapter is closed, and Joddski is currently working on his first solo album. Since 2001, Joddski has (together with Tungtvann Jan Steezy/Steigen/SkeeSkee) has run Norways premier dancehall sound system Raggabalder Riddim Rebels. Raggabalder have regular dances in most major Norwegian cities, and have also played other Scandinavian countries, as well as countries like Czech and Germany. Joddski’s solo album is well on its way and will hopefully hit stores some time during the first half of 2009. This album will feature more reggae and dancehall-influenced beats, and Joddski is collaborating with Europes premier dancehall producers as well as Norway’s finest
Hip hop producers. part of it is recorded in Norway, and the rest in Germaica’s HQ in Leipzig. Look out for the first single to hit the streets in February.
