Steel pan influences include Robert Greenwich (Jimmy Buffet), Ellie Mannette (master pan builder & theorist), and Keith St. Louie (Tobago Pan Professionals, Trinidad).
Music influences in general have been The Eagles, James Taylor, Otis Redding, Jimmy Buffett, Van Morrison, Jack Johnson, Beach Boys, Santana, Bob Marley, Tony Bennett, Willie Nelson, Lynyrd Skynyrd and many others.

Island Style...Classic Rock had an affair with Reggae...included the steel pan/steel drum...for a sound that cool and laid back.
International performer, Joe Maniscalco blends Steel Pan/Caribbean style music with 60s, 70s, 80s, Reggae and Motown tunes. He also throws in a bit of country -- as well as Buffett -- for good measure. A key ingredient in any Joe Maniscalco performance is a laid back, tropical attitude -- laced with the relaxing Island / Caribbean sounds.

His experience includes performer / entertainer; owner of several bands; cruise director; and radio talk show performer. His experience also includes dance, theatre, modeling, television and motion pictures.
In his travels, he has “opened for” well-known entertainers such as Jimmy Buffett, Chicago and Faith Hill. Awards include Entertainer of the Year (Back Street Magazine) and MEONA AWARDS several years running as Best Solo Acoustic Entertainer and Best Maritime and Island Music Entertainer. In 2009 he was nominated by Port Folio Weekly as "Best Cover Band." In addition, he has been nominated for the Jefferson Award / Hampton Roads.
Joe has performed in 38 states and 11 countries. Nightclubs -- from Virginia Beach and Richmond to Key West and Seattle. For events including restaurants and night clubs; fairs and festivals; private and corporate event; cruises; and fundraisers.
