Joey Granati is a composer, lyricist, vocalist, and multi-instrumentalist on piano, bass guitar, and guitar. His music career spans over 30 years, which began at age 5 as a classical pianist. As a member of the Rock ’n Roll group the "Granati Brothers", also known as "G-Force", he recorded for A&M Records and Atlantic Records and entertained millions of fans appearing at major concert venues and night clubs across America. The Granati Brothers were inducted into the Pittsburgh Musicians Hall of Fame, and The Beaver County Hall of Fame.

Joey has taught music for many years, and he now teaches "School of Rock" at Lincoln Park Performing Arts Center. This is a wonderful school, and they invited Joey to teach there in the style of the famous Jack Black movie, School of Rock.

Joey is also an avid Painter/Artist and one day he’ll disappear into the woods for an extended period of time and paint the day away. His true love and lifelong dream: To take a year of his life and touch the other side with no music or interruptions and paint in Paris and Florence. Joey believes he was born in the wrong century.

Joey Rocks the Nation

In 1977 Derek and Ray Shulman of the band "Gentle Giant" discovered the Granati Brothers playing a packed Pittsburgh area club and signed them to a management deal and to A&M Records. In 1979 A&M Records released the "G-Force" Album. Major rock FM stations throughout America, including WMMS, WMMR, KROQ, WNEW, and WDVE gave rotation airplay to the songs: "Nite"," You Looked So Good", "What in the World", and "It was You". Fans purchased over 50,000 copies. The Granati Brothers song "Go Crazy" was featured as the opening cut of A&M Records "Propaganda" compilation album that includes the "Police", "Squeeze", and "Joe Jackson". Rock Hall of Fame member Frank Barsalona signed the Granati Brothers to his Premiere Talent Agency and put the band on tour with Van Halen (on 2 tours), J. Geils, Ian Hunter, the Doobie Brothers, Sammy Haggar, Nazareth, Heart, Peter Frampton, Boston, Blue Oyser Cult, Def Leppard, Black Foot, Molly Hatchet, Head East, Southside Johnny, the Fabulous Poodles, Gentle Giant, Dionne Warwick,The Doobie Brothers, Rick Derringer, Ted Nugent, Humble Pie, Aerosmith, Alice Cooper, Rush, and many others. The band signed with Atlantic Records in 1986 and recorded an album called "Enter". Whether they were called "The Granati Brothers" or "G-Force", the band headlined thousands of shows in colleges, clubs, and theatres nationwide in the 1980’s thru the early 1990’s. They went their separate ways in the mid ’90’s to pursue other interests, only to re-unite for a new CD in 2002-2003.

The Granati Brothers latest independently produced CD is titled "G"-"The Continuing Adventures of the Granati Brothers". Released in 2003.

Joey’s New Age Music: 4th Dimensional Beings

In the early part of the New Century, Joey and brother David formed a think tank music force called "4th Dimensional Beings". This entirely instrumental collection showcases all of the various influences of Joey and David Granati. The title of this collection of music is "ALIEN HISTORY". Space music for the dreamers and friends of the Universe. Some of these compositions have been used for national commercial accounts, theme music for infomercials, and Soundtracks for videos. It is a kaleidoscope of sound and musical imagery. Mood music for the Astral Traveler.

In 2006, Joey, along with his brothers David and Hermie wrote the Theme Song "Reach For The Light" for a TV documentary called "The Actors Journey Project". This documentary was written and produced by Stanley Livingston, who portrayed the character "Chip" on the hit TV Show from the ’60’s "My Three Sons". In 2007, Joey and David Granati, in association with nationally recognized Comedien "Mark Eddie" composed and produced a Theme Song for esteemed Actor "C. Thomas Howell". Mr. Howell is the host of a nationally syndicated Radio Show titled "The C.Thomas Howell Show", and this theme song opens and closes all broadcasts.

Joey the Piano Man

In the mid ’90’s Joey began performing as a Dueling Pianist at dueling piano clubs around the nation and as solo pianist at private parties and corporate engagements. He has become one of the most recognized performers nationwide in this burgeoning business. With a repertoire of over 1000 songs he appears weekly at "Charlie Murdoch’s Dueling Piano Bar" in the South Side of Pittsburgh, a nightclub he is part owner of.

Influenced by Mozart, Debussy, The Beatles, and Yes, Joey composes Classical, New Age, Rock, and Pop. He is the owner of two recording studios and has written music for other artists. Joey and David Granati, along with Gary Carolla and Sputzy Sparacino, co-wrote Aaron Carters’ hit song "Tell Me How to Make You Smile" featured on his million selling debut.
